A couple of days ago I presented my editor with the brilliant idea of ranking Elvis Presley‘s songs to honor his birthday on January 8. Being a Mississippi girl, and having spent almost 30 years of that time living in the town of his birth, I am aware of his huge catalogue of hits, but picking just 25 out of such a variety proved to be more challenging than I anticipated. It has also been a reminder of the enormous impact that this boy from a small town made across three entertainment mediums and across several genres of music.
Born January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Ms, Presley spent his first 13 years there, with his interest in music sparking from a guitar gifted to him, church hymns and local hillbilly singer Mississippi Slim. After the family moved to Memphis, Tn, in 1948, Presley was surrounded by many different styles of music, including country, hillbilly, gospel and blues,...

[Update Nov. 2: Jeannie Mai has withdrawn from “Dancing with the Stars” after being hospitalized over the weekend, so there will now only be one elimination.]
A double elimination means double the dances on “Dancing with the Stars” — but it’s not two whole routines. In addition to their individual numbers, the top nine couples will face off in relays on Monday.
The nine pairs will be split into three relay groups — cha-cha, samba or Viennese waltz — and each couple will perform one at a time during their respective relays. One judge will be assigned to each group and will rank the couples within that group for bonus points. The points will be added to their individual scores and the live votes for the double elimination.
“Dancing” hasn’t done relays in a hot minute, but now’s a good time as any to bring it back since it can’t do team dances because of Covid-19 precautions.

Glenn Danzig is well aware that his fans sometimes call him “Evil Elvis.” “That’s fine,” he says with a laugh. “Anytime someone mentions my name and Elvis’ name in the same sentence, that’s great. It doesn’t get better than that.”
Danzig’s love for the King has been well documented over the years, as he’s covered Presley tracks going back to the early days of his pioneering punk group the Misfits. He famously included an ultra-metallic take on Presley’s King Creole track “Trouble” (“I’m evil,...

-- click to buy this poster -- Hey DJ! We found actor, DJ Qualls wandering the halls of the JoBlo.com offices last week and decided to invite him on the podcast. Turns out he was hunting down our news editor, Tony Lang for some comments he made in an article a couple weeks ago. So, naturally, we pulled Tony away from his desk and forced him into an unscheduled cameo to see if we could get them to fight. This happened also: - Mr. Qualls tells us all about his latest project called 'Circle...
