Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, and Michelle Bauer are the focus of horror fan/filmmaker/gentleman scholar Jason Paul Collum's new documentary Screaming in High Heels.
Jason Paul Collum has long made a career, of sorts, of understanding the women who we call Scream Queens. His prior documentary, Something to Scream About, featured interviews with a range of actresses with full careers in horror such as Debbie Rochon, Julie Strain, and Felissa Rose, and last year he made a documentary about the woman-directed Slumber Party Massacre series.
Screaming in High Heels is his new film, which focuses on what are usually called the Big Three, the "original" scream queens - Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, and Michelle Bauer, and their rise to fame on the video horror circuit beginning in the 1980s. These three women, the first Ever to be called "scream queens," have starred in literally hundreds of horror films,...

Critically praised and one of the first gay-themed thrillers, October Moon was released theatrically on September 25, 2005 and hit DVD on Valentine’s Day 2006, the film was an immediate success. With that success in hand, director Jason Paul Collum brings us the sequel, October Moon 2: November Son.
Referred to as “Oddly gothic…creepy fun…” (Instinct) and “A cut above most independent horror films…” (Film Monthly) October Moon 2: November Son holds the distinct novelty of being the first gay-horror film sequel! This DVD edition contains an all-new 4 page full-color insert by writer, director producer Jason Paul Collum (Something To Scream About). The entire original cast returns (even the dead ones) and are joined by Scream Queen supreme Debbie Rochon (Witchouse 3: Demon Fire), soap star Robyn Griggs (One Life To Live) and recording artist Sacha Sacket (Dante’s Cove), making his screen debut.

Jason Paul Collum is the genre director of several films and was featured as Bachelor of the Month in Instinct magazine. He is mentored by legendary scream queen Brinke Stevens who starred in two of his more popular efforts October Moon and its sequel November Son. Both of these films were refreshingly different films in the genre as they were gay psychological horror thrillers. We had the chance to ask him a few questions about his career and these films. Here is what he had to say:
For horror fans who may be unfamiliar with you, who is Jason Paul Collum and what is he all about?
I'm a guy with my hands in a lot of pots. I write, direct, produce and very occasionally act (a loose term) in mostly low-budget, independent films. I've worked on projects with budgets as low as $500 and as high as $150,000. I even worked...
