Yep. Its the best one...

I enjoy the Tony Hawk Pro Skater games very much, and this one is by far the best one. The graphics are better and the gameplay is changed a little, but its the best. The feature of having no time limits is great and the locations are really good. The Create a Skater and create a park is also really good features that add to this great game. I'd say if you are a fan of the other ones, this is one game to buy, or at least rent.

Thanks for reading..

Frustrating

Really only fun if you don't do most of the goals. The game is messed up in that it does things you don't tell it to do, doesn't do things you clearly tell it to do, or randomly has you fail a mission at the end for the sole purpose of making you do it for another four hours to get it right. A huge disappointment. If I were you, I would simply do the bare minimum to be able to play the game well, on your own, without having to stick to the pointless and nearly impossible missions they give you. Even the first three titles from Tony Hawk were better than this sorry excuse for a video game. If you do buy this game, try to buy it for the lowest possible, or get it for free because it isn't really worth that much.

I just received Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for Christmas and it rocks! Soundtrack is the best of the series, because it has AC/DC and other songs that aren't limited to the nineties and 2000's. Lots of hangtime gaps, vast parks, great graphics, and above all, playability. This game has the most skateboarding tricks you can do than any in the series. It has mostly the same tricks as THPS3 but it adds a few. The best part is that all of the parks actually exist in real life. Like Kona, for example. That's been there for decades. It is cloned perfectly from the bright red pool to the many rails. Nice job, Activision and Neversoft; another masterpiece shines, right along with the rest of the series and the Spider-Man games. My favorite feature is create skater. I know it's been in the games since THPS2 but it adds more clothes and decks. In the PS2 version you can also make a female skater.

Fun: 4.5/5 Graphics: 5/5 Playability: 5/5

Buy it if you have a GBA, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, or Xbox.

All the versions are good except for PS1 and GBA

All the versions are good except for PS1 and GBA. I know I wrote in my last review that the PS1 version is great, but now I have a GameCube and it makes the PS1 version and the GBA versions look like Pong. Seriously folks, if you want this game, get it for GameCube, PS2, or Xbox. Don't bother with the other two. They aren't worth the time or money.\ For one thing, they had to rate the PS1 version "E" for some reason, which means ruining the song lyrics, only male custom skaters, and no Daisy! WHAT???

GameCube/PS2/Xbox: Graphics: 5 Playability: 5 Time Worthiness: 4.5

GBA/PS1: Graphics: 2 Playability: 2 Time worthiness: 1

It Is Definitely Different Than the Predecessors, and Takes Time to Get Used To...

"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4" scared me at first. The gameplay was completely different, and at first I didn't like that. But after a while, I realized the game is much more challenging than its predecessors, and has excellently detailed, fully immersible, larger levels, as well as many more options and improved graphics and physics.

I'm not sure if it is, overall, my favorite Pro Skater game. I don't think I've had quite as much fun, per say, as I did playing the other three.

I personally think they should end the franchise now. They are ahead, and should stay that way while they can.

The real-life Hawk's popularity is practically over. He isn't what kids are talking about anymore. Just like yo-yos and Pokemon, every franchise has to eventually end, and I think Hawk should retire professionally and end his video game ring. He should stop while he's ahead.

Other than that, die hard fans of the original Tony Hawk video games might be disappointed in this new game. I myself enjoy some of the aspects, but find myself also missing other aspects of the game.

Close to the best, but not quite there.

4.5/5 stars --
