BAFTA-winning screenwriter and playwright Jack Thorne (Skins, This Is England) has been set to work on the script for the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s beloved Sandman comic book, with David S. Goyer and Joseph Gordon-Levitt confirmed to be involved as well.
Having been in the works at Warner Bros. in various forms since the late 1990s, the story of Sandman follows Dream (aka Morpheus), who is a part of a group called The Endless – the most powerful beings in the universe. Even though many are proclaiming the demise of the written word, and in some cases, such as print media, this consternation appears to be warranted, there is still a sizable market of people who are only too eager to read the latest smash novel from the latest flavor of the month author.
