Stolen Story
boblipton19 March 2012
No, this story of a man trying to woo a song-loving woman by using a phonograph recording as his own voice was NOT stolen from the Three Stooges. Given the dates involved, the theft went the other way. Polidor is there to provide the phonograph, although he does get in a couple of good gags if you look closely -- they go by pretty fast.

It might seem to the modern viewer that making a silent picture about someone using a phonograph is a bit of a stretch, but that silence helps sustain the illusion -- they're speaking and we can't hear them, so why can't they be pretending to sing and we can't hear them? It's very straightforward by later standards, but amusing on its own terms.
