Sex & Nudity

  • A nude statue that can be found in one of the stages was modified for the USA and World release. The statue's breasts were covered up.
  • In the Super Nintendo release, the word "SEXY" was removed from the Bay Area, but the word "DICK" can still be visible in the Slum Area.
  • Poison and Roxy are both scanty-clad vixens. Wearing tight mini-shorts, loose mini-tops and pumps. They are also both implied in their biographies to be "new halfs".

Violence & Gore

  • Blood sprays and blade-slash sounds were removed in the Super Nintendo release.
  • Guy, Cody and Haggar use steel weapons such as knives, pipes, katanas, etc. Also, some of the enemy characters like Sodom, Edi. E, Belger, and Rolento with his foot soldiers El Gado and Holly Wood are all armed and dangerous.
  • The grapple moves of the wrestling street fighters such as Mike Haggar and Andore Hugo are brutal attacks such as pile-drivers, choke-lifts, and suplexes.

Profanity

  • The first boss is named "Damnd" (changed to "Thrasher") and the second boss is named "Sodom" (also changed to "Kitana"). Their pre-approved names can be seen in the Super Nintendo ports of the game.
  • One foe exclaims "Oh My God!" at one point (this is edited out of the USA and World versions and re-dubbed as "Oh My Car!").

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The Bar sign was changed to a Club sign in both the USA and World releases.
  • Alcohol and beer are health items your that Guy, Cody and Haggar can pick up to get bonus points or to replenish vitals, but there are no scenes of your character drinking it or getting drunk. (The Whisky item was replaced with Vitamine.)

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Nothing too intense, it's a straightforward beat-em-up video game. A character is being held hostage that must be rescued.
