Sex & Nudity

  • Some kissing and flirting
  • The stepmom is cartoonishly gaudy and dresses in tight clothes. She stuffs money in her bra, and a woman asks if she still has room in there. The woman later asks her where she had her breasts done.
  • Some innuendo that will fly over kids' heads. Sam's stepmother insults the diner manager by telling her that she would be cleaning elephant butts with a Wet One in her circus.
  • The outfits that a popular clique at school wears can be revealing (miniskirts, low necklines). Girls stand by a swimming pool in bikini tops. A teenaged boy walks up to them and flirts with one of the girls. Sam wears a strapless wedding dress to a Hallowe'en dance, as well as other slightly midriff-baring outfits.
  • Samantha's stepmom opens her tanning bed as Sam walks up to it. Samantha turns away in shock, as though she had just seen her stepmom naked. No nudity is shown, and we afterward see her stepmom wrapped in a towel.
  • A teenaged girl walks into a men's locker room. We see various males shirtless throughout the room, and can hear noticeable whistling from the guys as the girl walks by.
  • The campus nerd invites Samantha to join him in the "mating dance of Zion," a Matrix reference.
  • A teenaged boy intervenes when another boy is behaving forwardly and aggressively with a girl at a school dance.
  • School cheerleaders perform a skit during a rally where a character's private emails are read aloud. Two cheerleaders stand upside down and their skirts fly up, revealing yellow panties/knickers. Another girl flips up the back of her wedding dress, but nothing is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • The lid of the stepmother's tanning bed accidentally falls onto her posterior, causing her to scream out in pain. No nudity.
  • A few shots of waitresses falling on roller skates while working in a diner.
  • Carter raises a flip-up countertop and hits a guy in the face with it, knocking him backward.
  • One stepsister pushes the other stepsister underwater to get even with her for passing gas near her.
  • Two teenage girls get into a fight while moving through a car wash, but it's cartoonish and nobody is hurt.

Profanity

  • Some name calling, including geek, freak, coward, phony, and witch.
  • Nothing worse than damn
  • One use of the following: h-ll, d--n, Oh my G-d, By G-d, and sucks. Three uses of butt.
  • The villain Fiona, a white woman, calls Rhonda, a black woman, "little Betty Crocker from the hood," a racial slur.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Teenagers have drinks at a school Halloween dance, but only soda is clearly shown as a beverage.
  • None.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A bunch of school bullies play a skit to pick on Sam to get even with her for liking Austin.
  • There's a brief earthquake moment (the Northridge quake) where young Sam sees her father tell her to stay put and runs off, but is apparently killed in the quake (we don't see the death or funeral).
