Errores:
Continuidad: When Telley is running away from NSA agents for the first time, she runs into the store and we see a shop assistant standing behind the cash desk. In the next shoot, when the NSA agent runs into the store, there is not only the man but also a girl behind a cash desk - she wasn't there in the first shoot. másCitas:
[first lines]Dr. Jack Munce: How much time did you spend at the dresser compared to last week?
Telly Paretta: Less.
Dr. Jack Munce: How much less?
Telly Paretta: I don't know exactly.
Dr. Jack Munce: You wanna make a guess, roughly, for the week?
Telly Paretta: Oh, not even an hour a day.

A long long time ago, Joseph Ruben was the director responsible for the creepy & original 80's gem "The Stepfather", but since then he only has been able to bring dull and thoroughly unexciting mainstream thrillers, such as "The Good Son", "Sleeping with the Enemy" and "Return to Paradise". I don't know exactly what I was thinking, but I sincerely thought that "The Forgotten" could have been a deserved comeback for him, especially judging by the plot synopsis and the involved cast members. Well, I have been wrong before "The Forgotten" is even worse than some of the aforementioned titles; a poorly written & nonsensical thriller that never at one point surpasses the quality level of a routine made-for-TV thriller. The plot (which sounded potentially great at first) is nothing but a series of stupidities, illogicalness and senseless twists. Telly Paretta's nine-year-old son Sam died in a plane crash. Or maybe he didn't! Maybe he was abducted? Or maybe like they want Telly to believe her son never even existed, and nor did her marriage. And who is "they"? Her imaginary husband and suspiciously behaving psychiatrist? The government? Freaking aliens, maybe?? Of course, the main question that is raised whilst enduring "The Forgotten" is: "Does the audience really care?" and the inevitable answer is . No. Julianne Moore's hectic private investigation for the truth regarding her son's disappearance quickly get tedious and very uninteresting, and then when the script starts to make insinuations about higher supernatural forces being involved, the whole thing just gets ridiculous. Also, everybody knows that a film such as this absolutely requires a happy ending, so in order to achieve that effect the story takes a downright retarded U-turn near the finale. Browsing through some of the other user comments around here, I learned that several people did appreciate the alternate ending, which features as an extra on the DVD. I just watched it on TV (luckily I didn't spend any money on the rental) and thus I can only verdict the official ending: LAME! Ruben uses the most clichéd tricks imaginable to try and increase the tension, like loads of gray color schemes and ominous music whenever a certain character appears on screen. Julianne Moore remains a terrific actress, so it hurts to see her talents getting wasted on inferior stuff like this. The film also suffers from a really bad case of typecasting! Gary Sinise as a helpful and understanding psychiatrist? Yeah, sure I must admit, however, that one sequence made me laugh hysterically. When offering help to Telly, one of the supportive characters is swept from her feet and forcefully catapulted into the sky. It looked so damn stupid it made me laugh! The producers should have done the same thing with the script before filming even started.
