I have no idea how old the footage for the French-Korean anime production Princess Bari by director Baek-yeob Seong (Oseam) really is, but I thinks it’s (still) pretty nice to look at.
The film is based on a Korean folk tale and has been in production since 2001. In November 2007 Animation Insider reported that the production has been completed, but so far nothing has been released or even announced. I only found this gem thanks to Cinema Beacon. This guy has been posting (and tweeting) some great stuff lately so I just couldn’t help but to borrow one of his stories again.
[See post to watch Flash video] Here’s a summary taken from a Korean picture book that’s based on the same tale:
Once upon a time, a king and a queen hand six princess brought up most delicately yet no prince. When the queen bore another child in her womb, they wished it to be a boy.
