Sex & Nudity

  • All of the nudity in this movie come from one character. She apparently doesn't always like to wear a shirt, and is shown topless frequently. It is never sexual though. Her breasts and nipples are seen about 4 to 6 times from varying distances and with varying levels of clarity. Her breasts and nipples are clearly visible in some scenes though.
  • A scene where a female character stands in front of the camera topless, wearing only tight short shorts. Breasts and nipples clearly seen. Not sexual though.
  • It is mentioned that a guy is "shooting blanks".
  • A man and a woman kiss. It is said later that they had sex.

Violence & Gore

  • A dog is heard being hit with a rolled up newspaper offscreen.
  • Some scenes contain extremely intense peril and some blood, But the overall violence is entirely non-graphic.
  • Two gunfights with lots of shooting and explosions.
  • A man is shot in the neck and dies, some blood is shown.
  • A teenager is shot in the shoulder, but he is fine. A little bit of blood is seen through the bandage.
  • A man is seen in the water with a pool of blood around him, he is fine but he says that his friend was eaten by a shark.
  • Men become bruised and bloodied from fights, nothing explicit.

Profanity

  • There's around 12 uses of "fuck," with this film being the most any Wes Anderson movie has had until Grand Budapest Hotel.
  • Some language including fuck, shit, ass, damn and bitch
  • Bill Murray's character called Jeff Goldblums character a "Faggot." This is hard to hear though
  • Most if not all the profanity mainly the F bombs are used towards the end
  • 14 uses of "fuck," mostly used towards the end.
  • Many uses of fuck, as well as some other mild profanities.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some brief marijuana use at a party
  • Men and women drink at parties.
  • A man is shown smoking marijuana and cigarettes a few times.
  • A pregnant woman is shown taking a drink, and is immediately chastized.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The ship is taken over and the crew is held hostage, some might find this scene intense.
