The PPV was running longer than scheduled, due to including several filler segments of the Nitro Girls dancing, and as a result, several thousand people lost the PPV feed at 11pm which was during the Goldberg (Bill Goldberg)-Diamond Dallas Page World Title match. The following night, WCW decided to correct the problem by airing the entire match for free on Nitro.
The Lodi (Brad Cain) vs. Perry Saturn match was Lodi's WCW PPV in-ring debut, as any previous appearances had involved him accompanying members of Raven's Flock to the ring and holding up signs. For this show, he was billed from "Anywhere in the world but Las Vegas, NV", an example of "cheap heat," a direct attempt to insult the local audience.
Scott Steiner substituted for Scott Hall as the Giant's (Paul Wight) partner in the match where Rick Steiner and Buff Bagwell (Marcus Bagwell) defeated them for the WCW World Tag Team Titles, with Bagwell turning on Rick, of course. That led to Rick giving the second half of the Tag Team Titles to jobber (wrestler whose role it is to lose to bigger names to make those bigger name wrestlers look good) Kenny Kaos (Kenneth M. Stasiowski) until they temporarily became vacant in January 1999 due to Rick suffering an injury.
Received an official VHS release in the USA (catalogue number T7117).
Dave Meltzer's "The Wrestling Observer Newsletter" gave the Goldberg-Diamond Dallas Page match 3 1/4 stars out of a maximum five stars. He awarded the "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan-Warrior match minus five stars and the readers named it the worst match of the year.
