Sex & Nudity

  • There is one sex scene, quite explicit in the director's cut. There is also one kissing scene.
  • A man has sex with a woman. There's heavy breathing between the two and he opens her shirt or robe, exposing her bare breasts. As they passionately kiss, he then pulls her leg up along his side and there's thrusting up against the wall and then on a table where he lies on top of her (we see one of her bare legs along his side, along with more views of her bare breasts). We see them together in bed the next morning (under the sheets).
  • Many photographs of corpses, including several of nude bodies with male genitalia exposed.
  • A man discusses a sexual encounter in detail with a woman (all her colleagues are listening)

Violence & Gore

  • A teenager pushes a guy (who's changing a flat tire) into the path of a quickly approaching truck. The guy slams into the windshield and is flipped through the air, while the truck goes out of control, crashing and flipping down the road. We see the bloody remains of the driver of the car and the young man (he has blood on his face and mouth and his limbs are twisted); another young man lifts a rock over his head and strikes the wounded young man (the screen goes black and we hear a loud crunch).
  • A man, a woman and others spot a expected suspect at a reception. The suspect then runs toward a large, plate glass window, grabs another man and pushes him through the glass to escape. A foot chase then follows with the woman and others after the supposed killer who pushes people out of his way.
  • We see the killer in a man's place who violently tosses a chair and then grabs him by the throat, choking him. The guy knees him in the crotch and then runs to get his gun, but when he pulls the trigger, it doesn't fire. The killer then punches him What actually happened was that the man was playing victim both of them struggle and the man kills him by shooting him in the stomach, using his corpse hand to kill another person as a stage to make it look like he killed him.
  • A woman finds herself in an elevator with the killer. A woman races to get to the elevator, then discovers them, and sees that the man has killed the woman (she has a gallon lot of blood on the elevator and on her head and he has blood on his hands) The guy saws her head and finishes the murder. The man then closes the door and the woman looks in horror.
  • A man backhands a pregnant woman, throws her to the floor on her belly and then kicks her on the floor (the latter impact is not seen). He then wraps something like piano wire around her neck, hoping just to render her unconscious. She gets free, grabs a pair of scissors and repeatedly jabs them at him, apparently hitting his hand. He then grabs her, has his arm around her and stabs the scissors into her pregnant belly. The woman stabs him in the chest with the scissors and reveals that her belly was a prop.
  • A car chase shows two cars racing through busy streets, one ends up going the wrong way on a bridge, the other car crashes into construction equipment sending the passenger crashing through the windshield (we see a blood-covered body lying on the hood of the car) and then the car explodes. A man has to have his arm stitched surviving, a corpse is discovered after the explosion for a woman to identify, she stretches her eyelids and reveals it is not.
  • A decomposing corpse is dug out of the ground at a construction site (the skin is discolored, the facial features are unrecognizable and the limbs dangle limp as the corpse is lifted by a digger's scoop). We see the skeletal remains of a person and a coroner discusses broken bones.
  • A woman examines a body in a morgue: We see bloody stumps at the wrists (the hands were cut off) and we see twisted flesh on the face (the person had been beaten repeatedly) and we see cuts on the ankles.
  • When a man wakes up from bed after sex, his arm has blood all over his cast and blood is shown on the bed. He finds out that his stitches popped leaving the wound open and having for it to be treated again.

Profanity

  • 18 "f" words (1 in subtitles and 2 used sexually), 7 "s" words, 2 slang terms for breasts (variations of "t*t," 1 in subtitles), 2 hells and 1 use each of "Christ," "Oh God" and "Oh Jesus."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Light drinking, Smoking is shown alot and drug insinuation.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The twist isn't as scary because of how early it is presented in front of the viewer however, the scene in the elevator is very incest and could frighten/shock viewers who are sensitive with the pints of onscreen splattered blood.
  • Taking Lives is a serial killer action thriller movie with tons of bloodying deaths and brutality
  • The scene where the killer appears at a woman's house unexpectedly could frighten some viewers.
  • A man plunges a pair of scisors into the belly of a pregnant woman.
  • A woman lies down on a bed in a seemingly empty room. Suddenly, an arm comes out of the bed and tries to strangle the woman.
  • Elevator doors open to reveal a blood-covered man holding a woman's severed head.
  • A woman looks through a hole in a ceiling and a dead body falls from the hole.
