A few years ago - OK, 20 years ago or so - these DVD magazines began popping up in quality video stores, and I bought a few of them. It is a cool concept and I wish it was still around - DVDs featuring a collection of short films in a variety of genres and by different filmmakers. It is a treat for serious film fans. Unfortunately the concept did not really catch on, and I haven't seen anything like it in a while. Probably Vimeo.com is the place to go for this kind of thing today (do let me know if I'm wrong).
Anyway, this was a decent compilation. The main thing here is the painful to watch concentration camp documentary "Night and Fog." Also, there is an amusing, surreal little flick called "The Whites" that was fun to watch. A couple of the others did not do much for me.
