Nickelodeon Latin America plans a panregional launch of the locally made Chilean kids TV show 31 Minutos, it was announced Tuesday. The launch will involve a big merchandising and licensing campaign set around the hit show, a spokeswoman said. The show features puppets parodying a real TV newscast and has been a breakout hit for Chile's TV Nacional since its launch last year. "This acquisition is a significant step forward in Nickelodeon's holistic growth strategy to expand its content beyond pay TV to include other media platforms," according to a statement.
