We open, once again, on Team Go Diva in their evil lair, giggling maniacally over the ostensible hilarity of Heather with a hoodie over her face. Clearly the weeks of stress, sleep deprivation, and no nookie have started to take a toll, because everyone seems a little more bonkers than usual.
Also, once again, we get an extended sequence of the Divas gloating about their brilliance, and the others (except for Eric, who manages to rise above all this nonsense) griping about what a-holes they are.
As my hubby pointed out, it’s bewildering why the others willingly keep referring to their opponents as “Team Diva.” They don’t seem to realize that repeating the name only serves to perpetuate it and further empower them. Have we learned nothing from the Tea Party?
Nevertheless, Danielle, drawing on her full repertoire of bizarre vocal intonations –the high-pitched highs of her R...

On October 2nd the third annual GoreZone International Film Festival got under way at Leicester Square’s Prince Charles Cinema; and for the first time ever, Dread was on the scene to check it out. Our report follows along with condensed reviews of six of the films shown over the weekend.
Blood Night: The Legend of Mary Hatchet, Breath of Hate, Hyenas, Cyrus: Mind of a Serial Killer, New Terminal Hotel, Darfur, and Devil's Playground are all included, but first a recap of the event and awards show.
In the face of fellow Leicester Square-based festival and horror heavy hitter, Film4 Frightfest, GoreZone (or Gz, as the magazine has rebranded) would appear to be the underdog. Having experienced the festival first-hand, however, it’s pleasing to discover a level of intimacy and audience connection that is easily lost amongst the hustle and bustle of many larger profile fests, bolstered by...

Anybody who has taken an acting class has likely looked at the instructor and wondered, "What if the tables were turned? How would I be as the one devising the improvisations and coaching students through scenes?"Such thoughts get self-censored for various reasons. Even actors with extensive experience and knowledge sometimes feel unworthy to teach a class. Others may feel that if they were to pursue teaching, it would interfere with their performing career—perhaps even signaling defeat. After all, the maxim "Those who can't do, teach" has been repeated so many times that people tend to believe it. But teaching acting doesn't necessarily mean giving up on acting.Back Stage spoke with five actors who have incorporated teaching or coaching into their working lives. They shared how they came to be teachers, how they've grown in the classroom or studio, and how they balance the twin parts of their work.

Lindsay Lohan is putting her troubles behind her to release a new song. After an appearance at Perez Hilton's birthday party this weekend where she reportedly premiered the track, the song "Stuck" became available on Hilton's website.
"Stuck," an electro-tinged rocker, is Lohan's first new music released since the 2008 single "Bossy." That track, written by Ne-Yo and produced by hitmakers Stargate, was never released on an album but earned Lohan her first #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.
"Stuck" finds some parallels to Lohan's current situation, including her highly-publicized personal problems. "I am stuck, stuck, stuck/I can try to run but I am out of luck, luck, luck/it doesn't matter where I go, I feel stuck," she sings on the track.
There's no word on if "Stuck" will appear on a new album, which would be her first since 2005's "A Little More Personal (Raw...

The smart ones did. If you are serious about creating online entertainment there is absolutely no reason that attending SXSW Interactive (SXSWi) shouldn't be on your must-go list. The five day conference, which just wrapped up Tuesday night drew 12,000 of social media and web junkies for a non-stop, bleary-eyed bender of business cards, panels, free BBQ and new connections. It was like camp for internet people. And that's my point. If you're making any kind entertainment on the web, you are internet people. Meeting other internet people is part of your job. The apps and tools that are emerging out of the developers at SXSW matter to your web series. Entertainment on the internet spent the past 5 years learning how to go from crawling to standing up and making its first wobbly steps. Now it's 2010 and mainstream eyes are gooing over this clever toddler of a medium. The really interesting...

I know it looks dire as it's 28% lighter (at least so far) and minus an artistic director, but no fear, there's still more to come, and with what's been announced theirs some interesting sounding stuff, especially a film we wrote about briefly called Accidents Happen. Also premiering is the comedy Stay Cool and the Danish film Original, along with the North American premier of The Exploding Girl which we also wrote about.
