The limited series, to be directed and exec produced by Emmy winner Susanne Bier (The Undoing), comes from Gail Berman’s The Jackal Group and Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps.

Love Productions USA (The Great American Baking Show) is set to produce Rhino Reboot, a series following the rebuilding of perennial underdog soccer team, The Rochester Rhinos, after sealing a deal with newly announced co-owners Jamie Vardy and David and Wendy Dworkin.
The Rhinos, a club that has struggled to find itself and establish a winning streak, last played professionally in the 2017 Usl season, but are anticipating a turnaround as they gear up for action in 2022.
The series will document the growth of the franchise as global football phenom Vardy and the Dworkins fill senior roles, including identifying a head coach and chief business officer, sourcing talented young local players who haven’t yet played at the competitive level, and trying to build a team both on and off the pitch. Great British soccer star Jamie Vardy has teamed up with Love Productions USA on a new documentary series, “Rhino Reboot,” that will see him attempt to rebuild underdog soccer team The Rochester Rhinos.
Vardy, a Premier League soccer player who has also played for England, co-owns the Rhinos along with Sacramento Kings co-owners David and Wendy Dworkin. Anthony Mackie, co-star of the hoops drama Crossover and Warner Bros.' upcoming gridiron flick We Are Marshall, is moving on to track and field. According to Variety, the young actor has been tapped to play legendary Olympic gold medalist Jessie Owens in an untitled biopic from Milkshake Films' Mike Jefferies and Matt Barrelle (Goal!). Ray scribe James L. White penned the project, which follows the American athlete's rise to fame at the 1936 Berlin games. Producers are aiming for a summer 2008 release.

NEW YORK -- The Tribeca Film Festival announced its Tribeca Family Festival lineup Thursday, including T4Teens, a new section of films for young adults. The 15-feature slate includes a mix of studio and indie fare: Charles Sturridge's remake of Lassie, starring Peter O'Toole, Peter Dinklage and Samantha Morton; Barry Sonnenfeld's RV, featuring Robin Williams as a father on a cross-country family trip; and Ted Wilde's classic 1927 silent film Speedy, starring legendary comedian Harold Lloyd. The four-film T4Teens section features Danny Cannon's soccer fable Goal! The Dream Begins and Alex Steyermark's comic look at a terminally ill teen with a final wish, One Last Thing.

English soccer ace David Beckham is set to make his big screen debut in Mel Gibson's sports film Goal!. The Real Madrid player will take a small role, playing himself alongside teammates Zinedine Zidane and Raul, in the film about South American football star Santiago - played by Diego Luna - who signs for English team Newcastle United. Indie production company milkshakefilms has struck a deal to co-produce the soccer-adventure drama Goal! with producer Lawrence Bender. Goal! is the story of a young Latino man who makes his way from Los Angeles to England with hopes of becoming a Premier League soccer star. With a budget estimated in the $20 million range, milkshake toppers Mike Jefferies and Matt Barrelle and Bender are launching the project as the first in a trilogy.
