Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts, with Spider-Man: Homecoming writer Chris Ford, is set to executive-produce a new Star Wars series for Disney+ — and the details, while few, are tantalizing.
As confirmed in a must-read Vanity Fair deep-dive into the future of Star Wars TV and film projects, Watts and Ford are creating a series under the code name “Grammar Rodeo” (a nod to a Simpsons episode in which Bart and his pals lie to their folks about attending a made-up educational event). Casting is underway now for a set of tweenage kids, and the series — set during the...

It’s not hard to see why a story about a U.S. at war with itself might have seemed especially piquant to producers over the past several years. And, indeed, “Dmz,” HBO Max’s new limited series based on a comic serial, feels capital-r Relevant, as if trying to fit in a civics textbook’s worth of ideas about who we are and what citizenship means into four episodes’ worth of action.
It’s not always seamless. Indeed, the pivots between different areas of “Dmz’s” universe often land thuddingly. We’re following Rosario Dawson’s Alma Ortega, who lost track of her son during a rapid evacuation of New York City as civil war began; some eight years later, she’s broken into what is now the wilds of Manhattan, abandoned by authorities and governed by warlords, in order to find him. Along the way, she finds herself...

When it came to making their 10th studio album, Epik High had a clear goal in mind: stick with the honest themes of self-love, loneliness, and confidence that have made them one of South Korea’s most popular hip-hop acts since debuting in 2003. “Epik High has always been best at songs that are deeply emotional, songs for those dealing with demons within,” says Tablo, who founded the group with Mithra Jin and DJ Tukutz. “We’ve dealt with so many of those demons ourselves, and what we want is for...

What’s better than one K-pop vet returning to the game? Three such artists teaming up for a Latin-tinged hip-hop track that showcases the seamless way in which Korean artists are weaving their way through different genres to serious success.
“Rosario” is the first single from hip-hop trio Epik High’s 10th studio album, Epik High Is Here (Part 1), and it features Cl and Zico, who started their careers within the traditional group format 10 years ago as leaders of 2NE1 and Block B. The vocalists trade verses for a song...

The new year is upon us, and it’s time to clean up Netflix once again. Don’t fear too much though, as much as we hate to see some of our favorites leave Netflix, they do a pretty good job at adding some great new content. We lose Almost Famous, A Clockwork Orange, American Psycho, The Graduate, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and all the Rocky movies – and we get Intolerable Cruelty, Training Day, The Rundown and a new Netflix Original for Degrassi: The Next Class.

New TV series Rosario Tijeras, which features sexy assassins and drug baron heroes, sparks moral outcry
Outlandish tales of shady drug bosses and glamorous women assassins are the staple of Colombian primetime television. But the latest "narco-soaps" about the country's drug gangs have sparked a debate about just how much of that dark reality should be broadcast into living rooms night after night.
The latest narco-show to air is Rosario Tijeras, a TV adaptation of a novel by the same name about a sexy hitwoman at the service of the drug mafia. The show's initial slogan, "It's harder to love than to kill", sparked such protests in the city of Medellin, where the story is set, that advertising posters were taken down.
The main Medellin newspaper El Colombiano said that the show was a "gulp of absurdity, vulgarity, bad manners and a big dose of narco-culture." Medellin, Colombia's second-largest city...
