Young actor Brady Corbet has worked with many impressive filmmakers over the years including Michael Haneke, Lars von Trier, Olivier Assayas, Gregg Araki, Noah Baumbach, Mia Hansen-Love and more. Some of that seems to be paying off with his feature directorial debut effort " The Childhood of a Leader" which has scored a first look trailer today.
Premiering last Fall in Venice where it won two major awards, and set to premiere next month at both the Sydney Film Festival and BAMcinema Fest in New York, the Sartre-fueled film boasts an impressive cast including Berenice Bejo, Liam Cunningham, Stacy Martin, Yolande Moreau, Robert Pattinson and Tom Sweet.
Set in the wake of the first World War in a chateau outside Paris, this totalitarianism allegory explores the early stirrings of despotism in a choirboy whose father is a high-ranking diplomat assisting President Woodrow Wilson in the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.

Disney is to try and strike Pirates Of The Caribbean-style gold with a new movie based on the Jungle Cruise Disneyland ride.
The upcoming slate of Dwayne Johnson was already looking just a little crowded. Now it turns out that he's adding another film to it as well, this time based on a Disneyland theme park ride.
The ride in question is Jungle Cruise, and Disney has hired John Requa and Glenn Ficarra - Focus, Crazy Stupid Love - to write a screenplay for the movie (it's not clear at this stage whether they'll be directing as well). The movie will reportedly be a period piece along the lines of The African Queen, the 1951 Humphrey Bogart/Katharine Hepburn-headlined classic. Turns out that film was one of the inspirations for the ride.
John Davis and John Fox are to produce the movie, Although where it fits into Johnson's slate remains to be seen.

Here’s this week’s Mad Men recap, “The Other Woman”:
Men are scumbags. Women are whores.
What did I learn about women last night? Well, Mad Men taught me there are two categories of women: 1) Those who are whores, and 2) Those who have sex for money/power. Can the women who read this recap add nuance to this categorization?
For those readers who need a bit more information to satiate their Mad Men lust, I’ll go into some detail concerning trivial matters like “plot” and “character development.” Hold on to your hats, folks; this week’s episode – called “The Other Woman” – was fucked up and Totally Cray.
Shall we begin? Let’s do this. The Jaguar team, still inspired by Don’s “Work Weekends and Holidays” plan, is holed up in the conference room brainstorming sexually suggestive taglines for the British purveyors of superficial, nonfunctional beauty and status.

An admiral at Annapolis Naval Academy waits outside for a meeting but has to call him when he person doesn't arrive. He and his Aide follow the ringing to a dumpster and find him inside. Ziva (Cote de Pablo) has her Us passport which she shows to McGee (Sean Murray). Tony (Michael Weatherly) doesn't seem interested for once. McGee compliments her passport photo which she took at the post office. Why does Ziva need a passport seeing as the vast majority of Us citizens don't have one? They use photo ID at airports since they're not flying out of the country. Tony's anxious about his father, Dinozzo Senior (Robert Wagner). He called him at 4am and Tony didn't pick up. At the Cs, Ducky (David McCallum) finds trace under the Vic's fingernails. Ziva calls Tony and McGee over to the dumpster as she doesn't want to go in there, it's filthy.

I didn’t think I would have to insult the intelligence of our readers by pointing out a very simple fact, but based on the first comment we received, I guess I should make something clear. This is a list of our favourite soundtracks of 2011. We are currently working on a list of the best original scores, which should be posted sometime within the week. Let us know if you think we left out any soundtracks you would recommend. Enjoy!
10 – Young Adult
One of the themes of Jason Reitman’s upcoming film Young Adult, is the idea of being stuck in the past, and trying to relive your glory days, and so it’s no surprise that the soundtrack to the film is loathed with 1990s alt-rock cuts. Due December 6th via Rhino Records, the fifteen-track disc features the Replacements, the Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr., Teenage Fanclub, Cracker, 4 Non Blondes, Veruca Salt and many more.

While Lady Gaga drops singles every other day like they're M&M's falling out of a glittery purse with a hole in the bottom, British sensation Adele is about to mark her eighth nonconsecutive week atop the Billboard albums chart without even releasing a second single from her smash 21 album.
Officially unstoppable, the disc moved another 156,000 copies last week to easily keep the #1 position, with sales now north of 1.7 million, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan.
The new faces in the crowd are way in the distance, with "Saturday Night Live"-spawned comedy rap trio Lonely Island floating in at #3 with their second star-studded effort, Turtleneck & Chain (68,000), followed by Christina Perri's long-awaited debut, Lovestrong (#4, 58,000), and Odd Future mastermind Tyler the Creator's Goblin at #5 (45,000).

Welcome back to a fresh round of Reports. I personally am hoping for at least one more smackdown on the line of Friday’s brilliant hit at Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. After all, isn’t that what Thomas deserves for watching The Daily Show when Stephen’s trying to interview him? Seriously, I thought it was a fine example of how Mr. Colbert can impart important information with his humor—namely the fact that the bench-warming Thomas, alone of all Supreme Court Justices, has said nothing at all in the past five years. People who haven’t realized exactly how incompetent and impotent a judge Thomas is, now will…and enjoy a laugh, too.
This week brings us three out of four guests who have appeared on the ‘Colbert Report’ before, including one real friend of the show whose politics aren’t to my taste, but who I must admit makes a fun interview.

Celebrity porn star Veronica Daniels announces she is not happy with Tiger Woods balls -- The Tiger Woods infidelity stories just won't stop. Vernonica Daniels, a former porn star who went by the stage name Joslyn James, is apparently miffed that her face is appearing on commemorative golf balls being sold by Creative Classics. [Dec. 19] Daniels, whose full name is Veronica Siwik-Daniels, was the eighth woman identified as one of the twelve women who claimed to have an affair with the celebrity athlete and star PGA golfer Tiger Woods. As a porn star, Joslyn James was a star in 18 porn video productions, and reportedly had a very kinky sexual appetite which appealed to Tiger Woods. Last year, Zimbio.com reported that Veronica Daniels, aka Joslyn James, gave "years of faithful service to [Woods] virulent sexual appetite." When news of the relationship between Veronica Daniels and Tiger Woods went public, Daniels hired the...

As the holiday season begins to ramp up, the 3rd annual Minneapolis Underground Film Festival is going to be spreading some naughty cheer on Dec. 3-5 for a weekend packed with over 16 feature films, several short films, parties and more.
While there are tons of great films to see at the festival, Bad Lit is especially excited by a trio of features that will be screening. First up is a rare U.S. screening of Spanish avant-garde filmmaker Carlos Atanes‘ third feature film Maximum Shame, an intense and surreal journey into an alternate reality on the verge of the destruction of the entire universe. The film combines philosophical ranting, verbal and physical torture, and singing! What more could you ask for?
Another international film that will be playing comes from just over the northern border. It’s Michael Peterson‘s wickedly entertaining Eddies: The Documentary, a truly inspiring film about...
