The film makes didn't own a video camera or a computer to edit on when the started production. The borrowed the camera, a Canon XL1, and had enough money to by a tower but did have money for a monitor. They found one in Steven Paul Judd's roommate's closet from a computer he had back in 1989. The screen was blury, but was suitable to use to edit on.
Although the budget was listed at $6,000, there was no budget. Steven Judd sold a Jim Thorpe football card on eBay for $700 and he did a medical experiment that paid $1,800. That was the starting budget, anything that came up was paid for as was need. The two most expensive one-time payments were the computer tower ($1,000) and an original score ($2,000). Once the movie was edited, the total cost were added up including computer and score and it totaled around $6,000.
