Violence & Gore

  • A mother spanks her son with what appears to be a belt for coming home late. However, it was used for discipline and not abuse.
  • Guerrilla warfare and battle scenes are depicted throughout the film.
  • A man is beaten severely, shown from a distance.
  • People are seen being struck by bullets and falling to the ground during battle sequences.
  • Two women are harassed and abducted by soldiers. It is implied that they will be raped but not shown.
  • A woman is caught in the crossfire of a battle and shot, shown from a distance.
  • Dead bodies are seen throughout the film, usually not up close.
  • A hanged body with a bullet wound is shown up close.
  • Children are lined up to be executed. Two are shot, shown in slow motion. No blood is shown, but the bodies collapse to the ground.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The battle scenes throughout the film are stressful and intense. Children scream in terror and the threat of death is constant.
  • Scenes involving children being dragged away to become soldiers are intense and emotional.
  • The execution scene near the end of the film is very emotionally charged and could be extremely upsetting.
