Just a few moments later, there is a knock on the door, follow by a shot which instantly kill one of the men. In Central Park, a weather girl is found dead on the ground. Autopsy reveals that she drowned, even though there is no water nearby the crime scene.

A teenage boy stumbles upon a dead body in a shop full of dolls. The man was the owner of the doll hospital. The room shows signs of a great struggle with dolls scattered all over the floor. In an upscale apartment, Stella and Sheldon Hawks examine the body of a waitress who had cancer. As oppose to the other crime scene, this room is in perfect order except for a spilled can of soup.

A female roller derby dies during a game. At first glance, it seems that she was trampled to death. However, autopsy reveals that she died from heating up from the inside. The other case involves the death of a writer found in a dumpster and wrapped in an expensive rug.

Danny and Stella are investigating a murder of a billionaire in a crime scene what seems to be a bedroom but while Stella is interrogating suspects, Danny searches the room for possible evidences and Danny manage to push a button that turns the bedroom into a panic room. On a trip home from work on the subway, Danny sees a body laying on the tracks. Luckily, he manages to stop the train before destroying any evidence. Mac Taylor, arriving from a Mayor's reception in his tuxedo, and Lyndsay Monroe join him. Stella and Hawks investigate the death of stock broker found hanging from a noose off of the window of his fancy office. As usual, the hanging was staged as the man was strangled to death.

He rushes to the scene where Stella is on the ground unconscious, while her boyfriend, Frankie, is found dead. Gunshot residue confirms that she shot him.

The victim is Aiden Burn.
