Nothing Close To Being Tasty As Tuna nor Chocolate
Chrysanthepop9 July 2010
Pablo Carbonell's 'Atún y Chocolate' is mind-numbingly boring. He writes, directs and acts in it and he scores low in all three departments. It's quite a pretentious little movie that attempts to present itself like a slice of life with some forced 'humour'. None of the jokes worked for me and when will these directors understand that there's a difference between grossing someone out and making someone laugh. Carbonell definitely takes the toilet humour a step further by literally making it very toilet-like. The overall acting is very clichéd. Only actress María Barranco manages to be likable. I was thinking how this time had gone wasted and that I should have done something more productive. Oh well, at least I get to tell people about it so if you do decide to see it because of the original title (though that would make a gross combination for a recipe) then watch it at your own risk.

Very bad
dcldan7 June 2007
Manuel is a poor fisherman that tries to keep a family united, when his girl forces him to marry, he will do his best efforts to catch a giant tuna for the meal, but tunas are not easy to catch and in the crazy town they live, strange things happen continuously and maybe he will success in his dreams. The movie is made by the humorist Pablo Carbonell, who has a gross sense of humour, and this is the main kind of humour of the film, gross and stupid, most of the jokes are nasty and disgusting and it is very possible that you miss the most remote sense of intelligence in all of the characters. All the acting are bad and there are many characters that do nothing in the film and, perfectly, with a better director, a better (not a good, anyway) film could have been filmed. Everything is mixed up to make a bad film, only its shortness makes it more enjoyable.
