This excellent program airs on the ABC (Australia's national taxpayer-funded non-commercial network) and repeated on ABC2 at various times.
The program gives the opportunity to people with an interesting real-life story to present it to a television audience. Apart from the host, who introduces the person, the entire story is told by the person themselves.
The stories range from the bizarre to the heroic and from the amazing to the tragic. One week, you may laugh, the next cry and the following feel angry. It all depends on the story being told. There are stories about scientists who make life-saving discoveries, people who have endured horrendous accidents, stories of families on the land, controversial politicians and best of all, stories about virtual nobodies who have done something amazing with their lives.
This is true 'reality' television.
