Great short story
seeksub8 March 2005
Orphic film did a great job in my opinion. Overall, and against the commentary of the previous submitter, I was touched by the film and it's story. Especially the end was "touching". Of course one can search for negative details, but as i said before, the film kinda "touched" me. Don't forget it's not a big "high budget" movie, but a film, created with love and passion. Maybe some people will find the movie too much as a movie student project, because of the so called "standard" shots, but overall I thought it was an excellent job. Choosing this kind of subject in a(n) (American) Gershwin area, is very daring and well done in my opinion....

Forgive me my terrible English, I'm Dutch.....

A final task

This is an unforgettable short film, a film that takes place at the end of a journey - or in the case of this, two journeys. Wonderfully acted by the lead who has an incredible face, one that shows every emotion this film evokes - sadness, determination, peacefulness. The music at the end is used to stunning effect, and as a viewer it helped to rejuvenate my shattered emotions, the sadness I felt at witnessing only the end of this man's journey and not points beginning and middle. Excellent use of locations and the cinematography is excellent. The edit in particular shines - combining B&W footage with color and great use of fade transitions. Peter Sieben is a filmmaker to watch.
