The program consists of five coaching and development sessions and an online pitch event with mentors, including Malinda Wink, global director of Doc Society’s Good Pitch and Screen Nsw investment manager Andrea Ulbrick. The sessions begin this week.
The focus on the pitch training is to support participants to develop strategies and pathways for non-traditional access to audience and finance for projects that have potential for an impact campaign.
The initiative was open to projects from across the non-fiction landscape, and encouraged “projects that offered a rare insight into the under-represented and overlooked; stories from those who see more than what’s shown in the common zeitgeist; stories that break barriers and explore nuance over polarity.”

Brooklyn Beckham took to Instagram on Wednesday to show off his newest tattoo, which reads, "0 2 0 5 1 1."
The numbers symbolize the years his three younger siblings -- brothers Romeo and Cruz and sister Harper -- were born, in 2002, 2005 and 2011, respectively.
The sentimental body art was inked onto Brooklyn's right arm by tattoo artist, Mr. K, who works out of the famed Bang Bang NYC shop.
And that's not the only fresh ink the 18-year-old college student has gotten done this month alone. Just last week, he showed off a chest tat of a cherub that was created by Dr. Woo, a celeb tattoo artist in Los Angeles.
Brooklyn got his first tattoo in April, but he's since added a slew of designs to his body, including "Mama's Boy" written on his chest in honor of his mother, Victoria Beckham.

Brooklyn Beckham gets inked once again.
The 18-year-old photographer and son of David and Victoria Beckham shared a picture of himself getting a new tattoo on Thursday.

Doctor Woo shared the final design on his personal Instagram, which shows Beckham with an angel holding a bow and arrow on his chest.

The latest installment of the Star saga was an ideal example of the show's split personality.
It was part political statement against police brutality and the system's bias against black men, part sexy and suspenseful soap opera, and all insanity.
On Star Season 1 Episode 8, Alex was released from jail thanks to the intervention of her mother, Rose, who showed up to pay her bail and chew her out. Derek wasn't so lucky, though.
Despite Derek's lack of a prior criminal record, and the fact that, you know, he was innocent of any crime, his bail was set at a seemingly insurmountable $250,000.
As Miss Bruce points out, they only need to raise ten percent of that amount for the bail bondsman. But where to get $25,000?
Do you think Destiny's Child ever went through something like this?

There are films that are based on a true story, and then there's "The Mule." It's easy to see how directors Tony Mahony and Angus Sampson, who star in and co-wrote the script, would be attracted to this outlandish story. But taking inspired ingredients and turning them into a worthy genre film entails knowing the limitations of the story and maximizing its strongest points, advice the filmmakers could've used at any time during the making of "The Mule." A movie that jumps into its central premise before quickly settling into tedium, Mahony and Sampson try to wring as much mileage of possible out of a grown man trying not to take a shit. But in order for the audience to play along, you have to make us give a shit, and "The Mule" does try. The story follows Ray (Sampson), a schlubby Mama's boy who works an unremarkable TV repair...

"Bates Motel" is going to hit the ground running when it returns with Season 2. A behind-the-scenes preview of the new season shows the way it will pick up after Miss Watson's death.
Norman (Freddie Highmore) is apparently obsessed with Miss Watson's death, and slowly starts to realize the dark side of his blackouts. Norma (Vera Farmiga), meanwhile, has to deal with the increasing creepiness of her son.
"That mother-son relationship I don't think has ever really been explored; that your child could potentially be a monster," Farmiga says.
Dylan (Max Thieriot) is caught in the war behind families, and it looks like Norman isn't the only one who's going to be dealing with mysterious deaths. The below promo shows Dylan packing up and ready to leave Norma's house.
"If viewers think they have 'Bates Motel' figured out, they're wrong," co-creator Carlton Cuse says.

What's Your Number? isn't half as bad as I thought it would be after seeing the trailer, and I was duped into looking for a plot twist about midway through thinking there would be some big third act reveal. Nope, it's a straight-forward rom-com that goes exactly down the path you'd expect and is made only slightly more enjoyable thanks to an R-rating, a few punchy one-liners and a couple of satisfactory performances from the lead cast. All in all it's comfort food and you won't mind consuming it, but you won't exactly feel full when you're done.
The story follows Ally Darling (Anna Faris), a rather promiscuous (and not too bright, though I think we're supposed to believe she is) young woman who's now in her thirties and beginning to wonder if she'll ever find Mr. Right after so many Mr. Wrongs. She gets a bit down on herself...

The Season Premiere of Big Brother 13 was this week, so we can all look forward to another summer of scripted Nomination and Power of Veto ceremonies, and Julie "But First" Chen. I was unable to watch the premiere until Sunday since I was in Las Vegas, so that's why this recap is coming so much later than normal. I was unable to watch the premiere until Sunday since I was in Las Vegas, so that's why this recap is coming so much later than normal. I have finally watched it, and since there isn't really a lot to discuss other than the HoH competition, and the twists that have been announced, let me start off with my first impressions of the new houseguests after only one episode.
Dominic the Mama's Boy – A motorcycle-riding virgin who lives with mom. Can you really call yourself an "Adrenalin Junkie" when you can't even fold your own clothes?

Interesting news from the MTV 'Jersey Shore's' front as Vinny Guadagnino is said to be leaving the Gtl nest. The Hollywood Reporter uncovered some sort of reality TV show drama between Vinny Guadagnino and his Jersey Shore housemates, but the nature of these TV beasts is concocted manufactured nonsense; so here is what we know from the THR scoopage: Mama's boy Guadagnino claimed he was .burnt out. and returned home to Staten Island with no desire to go back to the Jersey Shore sets. THR sources say the crew have tired of his homesick "antics" and won.t be trying to get him to come back. MTV replied to THR's request for more intel: "We don't comment on series while they...

The cast of Love in the Wild.
In a TV programming executive's office somewhere out West, a conversation like this recently took place …
"You know what people really seem to like? Dating shows! Also … shows where castaways struggle to survive in brutally extreme environmental conditions that bring them to the brink of cannibalism … Say, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"That we hold a lottery to select two teenagers from each state and force them to fight to the death in some sort of futuristic arena?"
"Nah. The lawyers are still giving us trouble over that one. But no worries, they'll come around. No, I'm thinking a reality dating competition! Somewhere without toilets."
And out of that inspirational moment was born this certain-to-be Peabody-award-winning televised nature documentary:
As perky Aussie host Darren McMullen informs us, these 10 single men and 10 single women – all interchangeable Banana Republic employees, as best I can tell – have tried it all!

Kanye West has been on his best behavior lately, we assume, putting his nose to the grindstone on the upcoming "Watch the Throne" joint project with Jay-z. Even after the unauthorized leak of a reportedly unfinished track titled "Mama's Boyfriend," the outspoken musician released a perfectly acceptable statement through -- wait for it -- his rep.
Is this a new era of Kanye?!
"The version of the Kanye West recording 'Mama's Boy' that arrived on blog sites earlier this week is entirely bogus and unsanctioned, and violates the artist's creative intentions. As is often the unfortunate case, an unknown party or parties got a hold of Kanye West's vocal track and added their own soundbed to it, effectively and falsely releasing it as a Kanye West track from the 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' sessions," the statement reads.
"The result in no way resembles the final song...

I'm not normally one for animated shows, but Archer is funnier than almost anything on TV right now. Sterling Archer is living the good life. In Season One, we meet the dreamy international spy who takes, and has, whatever he wants. He's inadvertently the best agent around, constantly saving the day by virtue of his mistakes. As Archer willingly admits to those around him, he's "a huge douchebag," yet, despite his personality, he's quite the lady’s man.
While Archer thinks he’s the best spy in the world, he couldn’t get by without constant support from his friends and family. His ex-girlfriend, sexy super-spy Lana Kane (Aisha Tyler) is his partner in crime, and the two are constantly battling each other as they fend off the bad guys. And all too often, Lana is saving Archer’s ass. Lana is the sex kitten on a show riddled with...

With Rob Zombie's Halloween II and the fourth installment in the Final Destination series out in theaters this weekend, Fsr's resident Devil's Advocate Josh Radde and guest Adam Sweeney decided not to debate between the two franchises, but rather: what is the best horror film of the decade? Shouting Match, heading up to the end of 2009, will occasionally jump into "decade-review mode" and determine what we thought shined in the first part of this bitchin' new century. Opening Statement (Josh) Over the past half century, certain horror films have carved out a niche in which they grew to the heights of their popularity. In the 60's we saw Mama's boy Norman Bates stab a lady in the shower. Spielberg made us think twice about jumping into the ocean in the 70's. The slasher genre hit its absolute apex with Freddy, Jason, and Michael Myers in the 80's. Drew Barrymore was the first victim of the 90's horror...

We haven't heard much from Jon Heder recently, but don't worry, he's still in the acting biz. In fact, he's set to star in "Buddy Holly Is Alive and Well on Ganymede."
The film is based on Bradley Denton comic sci-fi novel, and Heder will play Oliver Vale, a geek whose life changes when Buddy Holly shows up everywhere on TV and announces Vale is the only one knowing why this is going on.
Variety reports Robert Rugan, who wrote the script, will direct the film. Heder hasn't done anything awesome since his glorious effort in "Napoleon Dynamite."
One of his more recent films was "Mama's Boy," and boy, did that one stink. He will also appear in Mark Steven Johnson's "When in Rome."...
