Actress Drew Barrymore recalled spending the “most chaste” evening of her life with New Kids on the Block member Jordan Knight at the peak of his fame.
The actress reminisced about what she anticipated to be “every girl’s fantasy” as she found herself in the hotel room of the New Kids on the Block singer during his pop heyday. However, the pair simply played music until the early hours of the morning before Barrymore headed home.
Speaking on her self-titled talk show to Knight’s bandmate Donnie Wahlberg and his ‘Blue Bloods’ co-star Bridget Moynahan, Barrymore shared, “I thought about a night that I remember walking through a sea of girls at a hotel on the Sunset Strip.”
She added: “And it was in the late eighties, early nineties, and I got to go into Jordan Knight’s hotel room, and it was like, literally, I was getting to...

Few celebrities can claim to excel in multiple files the way Jennifer Lopez has. A popular singer, a brilliant dancer, and a commercially successful actor, Lopez has proved that she is literally a jack of all trades. In addition, the Jenny From The Block crooner is one of the most electric performers who has set various stages on fire.

But not everyone is equally convinced about the Puerto Rican artist’s talent. A former Marvel alum and The Bear star Ayo Edebiri who has been a prominent presence in the 2024 Hollywood awards season, claimed that Lopez’s singing career was bogus, and stated that she never actually sang her own songs. This accusation resurfaced around the time that Edebiri and Lopez were due to appear together on Saturday Night Live.
Why Did Ayo Edebiri Find Jennifer Lopez’s Music Career Problematic?...

Bryan Baeumler wasn’t lacking in confidence when he and his wife Sarah Baeumler arrived in Colorado to film the latest season of HGTV’s Rock the Block. With decades of experience building luxury custom homes – and having renovated an entire resort in the Bahamas – the Renovation Island stars were prepared to go all the way in the series, which pits teams of pros from different HGTV shows against each other as they renovate four identical homes and vie to see who can add the most value to the property. But the couple faced stiff competition from their fellow HGTV stars, he shared with Showbiz Cheat Sheet in an interview ahead of the show’s March 6 premiere.

Jenny McCarthy stands by her decision to not walk offstage in protest when Rudy Giuliani appeared on “The Masked Singer” earlier this year.
Following a poor rendition of “Bad to the Bone” by George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Giuliani was unmasked as the Jack in the Box.
McCarthy’s fellow “Masked Singer” panellists Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke stormed off while the former attorney to former president Donald Trump chatted with host Nick Cannon.

New Kids on the Block released a video for their new song “Bring Back the Time” last week that’s perhaps the most potent expression of nostalgia we’ve ever seen. There was a time when "hoodie" just referred to a plain old comfy sweatshirt with a built-in hood. But in the UK during the 2000s, the word became a derogatory catch-all term that conjured up images of a young, yobbish, working-class male, often seen hanging around bus shelters and shopping precincts, causing aggro and generally being intimidating. An encounter with a gang of hoodies could be a frightening experience, and people told their tales as if talking about a lucky escape from a pack of hyenas (via Slate).

The future of the TV landscape remains difficult to predict, but commercial networks expect to feel the impact of coronavirus on commissioning budgets well into 2021, and many broadcasters are concerned about scheduling into next year and extra costs associated with restarting production.
These are some of the insights from a panel of commissioners speaking on the most recent session of Running Free Live, a webinar hosted by Denise Eriksen and presented by Acmi, Film Victoria and Media Mentors Australia.
Nine Network head of production and development Adrian Swift said revenues were “fundamentally” down at all three commercial networks.
“The reality is it’s completely screwed us for this financial year, and probably most of next financial year,” Swift said.
“That changes what you can commission. Our commissioning budgets have been completely revised as a result of what’s happened.

The Seven Network’s ‘Extreme Weddings.’
The Seven, Nine and 10 networks insist they are not stockpiling Australian dramas and other local programming despite the suspension of the local content quotas for the rest of this year.
Last week Screen Producers Australia CEO Matt Deaner slammed the government’s decision to suspend the quotas for drama, documentary and children’s programming as a very blunt tool which has the “potential of crippling an industry already on its knees.”
Deaner said: “With no incentive for the broadcasters to release hundreds of hours of already delivered but not yet broadcast children’s, drama and documentary content, it harms the Australian public’s ability to access the content which is sitting gathering dust on shelves.”
The Nine Network, which has seen shows including The Voice Australia, The Block and Endemol Shine Australia’s drama Rdfs suspend or delay production, rejects that notion.

Over the past three decades, Naughty By Nature’s Vin Rock has heard everyone from toddlers in South Africa to basketball arenas packed with New Kids on the Block fans perform his group’s 1992 anthem “Hip Hop Hooray.” But even he was surprised last month when he saw Rita Wilson post an Instagram video of her take on the song while she and her husband, Tom Hanks, recovered in quarantine from Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

We’re had to wait seven weeks to see the return of one of the best vocalists on season 3 of the “The Masked Singer”: the Turtle. He, along with the other Top 3 in Group A — the Kangaroo and the White Tiger — made the cut back on February 12. On the special two-hour edition of “The Masked Singer” on April 1, they competed along with the best of Group B and Group C.
Each is hoping to win enough votes from the studio audience to stay in the competition and make it to the quarter-finals. Of this Super 9, the Turtle is the one who has most confounded the four judges. We are sure that they are wrong with their guesses that the Turtle is either Jenny McCarthy‘s husband Donnie Wahlberg or his New Kids on the Block bandmate Joey McIntyre.
We’ve rewatched all three of his performance and don’t...

Lincoln Younes (centre) in ‘Grand Hotel.’
Lincoln Younes auditioned for multiple Us roles during six pilot seasons without success – but his persistence paid off when he was invited to join the ensemble cast of Grand Hotel.
Younes plays enigmatic hotel waiter Danny Garibaldi in the Us ABC network series set in Miami, which follows an Hispanic family as they pursue the American dream.
Inspired by a Spanish series and executive produced by Eva Longoria, the show premieres on the Nine Network at 8.40 pm this Wednesday, following The Block.
Ironically the actor, now 27, nearly pulled out of the audition in Sydney. In the space of three days during pilot season he did 12 self-tapes with the Australian casting directors and had so little time to prepare that he nearly cancelled the Grand Hotel audition, but he decided to give it a shot.

The Singaporean film industry is experiencing an unprecedented production boom. At least 14 homegrown films are due to release this year, a 50% increase from 2018, with another 15 in development, per the Singapore Film Commission.
Last year saw unprecedented success for Singapore cinema, with Yeo Siew Hua’s “A Land Imagined” winning the Golden Leopard at Locarno, and several more awards globally. The film was released theatrically in Singapore in February 2019 and enjoyed a successful box office run. Jon M. Chu’s Singapore-set blockbuster “Crazy Rich Asians” led to a global uptick in interest in the island country; auteur Eric Khoo’s culinary themed “Ramen Shop” won plaudits at Berlin and Tokyo; and locally, horror films from Gilbert Chan (“23:59: The Haunting Hour”) and Jacen Tan (“Zombiepura”) found favor with audiences.
Local superstar Jack Neo had a 2018 Lunar New Year release with comedy “Wonderful! Liang Xi Mei” from regional powerhouses MM2 Entertainment and J Team Prods.

A lot of fans have been wondering if we would ever see a female version of The Doctor in Doctor Who. Well, wonder no longer because today it's been announced that Attack The Block actress Jodie Whitaker is the new Doctor! It's a casting choice that fans didn't see coming, but I think it's great!
Whitaker will be the 13th Doctor for BBC's Doctor Who after Peter Capaldi ends his run after the upcoming Christmas special. I know there are fans out there that might not be into the idea of The Doctor being a woman, but the actress hopes she's accepted. In a statement she said:
"I want to tell the fans not to be scared by my gender. Because this is a really exciting time, and Doctor Who represents everything that’s exciting about change. The fans have lived through so many changes, and this is only a new,...

In its special episodes, Saved By The Bell wasn't afraid to get real. Or kill ducks. All together now, "I'm so excited! I'm so excited!..."
Saved By The Bell wasn't just Zack and Slater having a dance off. Yes it was. However, the show also tried its hand at a number of 'very special episodes'. These typically featured problems encountered by all teens at some point, like drinking half a can of beer, dead ducks, and getting off your tits on Pro Plus.
I grew up watching Saved By The Bell, and thanks to its teachings I am a well adjusted individual. Not like those weirdos who only ever make one joke about how they're a bit odd, and everything they ever write is a rubbish variation of that joke mixed in with jokes about Bungle.
Let's have a look at how Zack, Josh, Twinkie and Billy...

Random thoughts and vague notions.
New Girl On The Block. Samantha Bee has launched her new weekly news round-up show, Full Frontal. Two episodes have aired so far and, Imo, both were killer. I always loved Samantha Bee on The Daily Show – she was a great combination of fearless and shameless, and she carries that over to her new show. The writing is sharp and the delivery dead on. I loved the segment she did last week on the so-called constitutional crisis arising from the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and how it really isn’t a crisis; it’s the Republican leadership in the Senate refusing to do their job. Check it out.
I love Noah Trevor, Larry Wilmore, John Oliver, and Bill Mahar but, right now, I love Samantha the most. All hail Queen Bee!
Commercials. I usually skip most TV commercials. Not all. And some...

Welcome to Outrage Watch, HitFix's semi-regular rundown of entertainment-related kerfuffles. Not anxious enough already? Get your fix of righteous indignation below, and stay posted for outrage updates throughout the week. "Sesame Street" became the big newsmaker on Thursday morning when it was announced that Sesame Workshop, the non-profit organization behind the series, had struck a deal with HBO that will see the next five seasons of the iconic children's TV program airing exclusively on the premium cabler (including its "multiplex channels" HBO Go, HBO On Demand and the new internet-only Svod service HBO Now) for a nine-month window before airing in reruns on public-access PBS stations, where it has made its first-run home since 1969. The upside? PBS stations will now be able to air the show for free, and -- according to HBO and Sesame Workshop -- the deal will additionally allow the latter to "produce almost twice as much...

Lopez also extols the virtues of aging gracefully- "You hit a stride where your spirit, body, and mind all come together. I embrace who I am. If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
Time for a game of Lip Flip on "The Tonight Show!" This week's victim of lip switcheroo goodness was none other than Jennifer Aniston, who totally killed it. Her Jimmy-induced musings on Bonnaroo will forever be etched in our memories.
Lea Michele sang "Let It Go" during a recent episode of "Glee," and yes, she sounded amazing. She also told Jimmy Kimmel that she vomited everywhere while performing it. So, you know. Good times. (Note: musings on vomit start around 1.5 minutes in.)
In other news, Dr. Drew Pinsky also stopped by "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to fondle some footballs and explain how you (yes, you!) can determine if you're suffering from "deflated balls.

Jennifer Lopez is a hustler. Nearly 25 years ago, the former Fly Girl stepped on stage for "In Living Color" and since then her career path has taken her through a flow of entertainment highlights and low lights. She's been a dancer, singer and songwriter; a comedy, rom-com, horror, voice and drama actress; she's appeared on the small screen and big, and on the biggest stages in the world, and at some of the most prestigious festivals. She's sung in Spanish and English, for an array of pop musics with some of the biggest producers and other vocalists on the planet. She's led shows like "American Idol" and run TV from behind-the-scenes as an executive. But those many forays haven't been met with 100% pure success. Lopez' career and personal life -- which has, at many times, been closely tied to her work -- has taken some hits. This week, fans will...

Nineties giant snake movie Anaconda comes under James's microscope. Could it be more than just another scaly B-movie?
"You don't know shit about the shit we're in here!" Gary Dixon (Owen Wilson) in Anaconda. That sentence pretty accurately sums up most people's appreciation of both the movie Anaconda, life in general and the state of the Universe. When you've finished reading this article, you will know some shit.
Do you remember Anaconda? The 1997 killer snake film starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube and Jon Voight? It had the tagline "When you can't breathe you can't scream"? It got nominated for six Razzies but, in spite of such ignominy, went on to become a cult hit and spawned three sequels?
