This is one of the few ghazals that makes me cry every time I listen to it because it reminds me of people who are not with me anymore, especially the part that says “Ek Ahh Bharri Ho Gi, Humne Na Suni Hogi, Tumne Jaty Jaty, Awaaz Toh Di Hogi, Her Waqt Yehi Hai Ghum Us Waqt Kahan Thy Hum”. Such an outstanding number!

31st July 1980! 31 years ago, India’s singing legend, our beloved Mohd. Rafi breathed his last.
5 years earlier on 14th July 1975, one of our legendary composers, Madan Mohan had already bid us farewell.
The music world, since then, has been bereft of their genius.
However, the historical magic they created together, through their unforgettable songs, has endured to this day.
Who can forget their immortal songs like Tujhe Kya Sunaoon Main Dilruba, Basti Basti Parbat Parbat, Kabhi Na Kabhi, Sawan Ke Mahine Mein, Mujhe Le Chalo, Main Nigahen Tere Chehre Se, Yehi Hai Tamanna, Rang aur Noor Ki Baraat, Kisi Ki Yaad Mein, Kar Chale Hum Fida, Main Yeh Sochkar, Tu Mere Saamne Hai, Aapke Pehloo Mein, Aakhri Geet Mohabbat Ka, Yun Rootho Na Haseena, Shama Mein Taaqat Kahaan, Ek Haseen Shaam Ko, Tumhari Zulf Ke SaayeMein, Meri Awaaz Suno, Teri Aankhon Ke Siwa, Chirag Dilka Jalaao, Yeh Duniya, Yeh Mehfil,...

The legendary composer Madan Mohan, who passed away in 1975 at the young age of 51, left behind various tunes which remained unused. Some of these were used as the music score of Veer Zaara, and won wide appreciation and various awards.
He also left behind songs recorded in his lifetime, which remained unheard as the films remained incomplete.
15 such songs were released on an album Tere Bagair by Yash Raj Music in 2009, to mark the composer’s 85th birth anniversary.
After the appreciation of the album Tere Bagair, more unreleased songs sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and the late Mohd. Rafi and Kishore Kumar have been released through the official website www.madanmohan.in
On the occasion of Madanji’s 87th birth anniversary on 25th June 2011, and in commemoration of the second anniversary of his website, yet another “never heard before” song is being released, sung by Asha Bhosle.
