a university professor wants to take his students for a visit to a prehistoric grotto

really strange movie, from the beginning, you dive into a mysterious world. This alas unknown Italian director is a master of intriguing atmospheres. There is so much fantasy in the plot, the prehistoric time lives alongside our epoch. It was probably shot in Cinecittà, but it's very difficult to see if it's all set or real location. You can feel there was a huge amount of work done on colors and lighting in general. Some of the actors are quite good, I'm surprised their names don't appear on some recent castings, like Gatteschi, for example. The camera moves freely, probably often taken by hand, anticipating many contemporary movies. It's undoubtedly a very original and artistic way of filming. Are we in front of a genius or a total freak? You wonder why this fellow Stappo is not doing some movies in Hollywood where every movie looks alike. So, if you want to live a unique experience, just lay back and enjoy!
