That's All about Sex
claudio_carvalho12 September 2009
The friends Josh Henderson (Mark Parrish), Mike (Erik Fellows), Luke (Garrison Koch), Toby (Sonny Marler) and Ryan (Al Santos) overhear the conversation of three bikers in a dinner place about the girls of the Mustang Sally's brothel in Malawan. Together with their friend Seamus (Sean McGene), they drive to the place to have sex. They are hosted by madam Mustang Sally (Elizabeth Daily) that introduces her sexy girls: Caressa (Lindsey Labrun), Persuasion (Tina McDowelle), Likilick (Deidre A. Cannon), Kitten (Dana Fares), Titianna (Joni Kempner) and Tushalean (Alycen Malone). Out of the blue, the great pleasure of the hot girls becomes a gore revenge.

"Mustang Sally" is a silly and unbelievable story of vengeance supported by eroticism and sexy actresses. However, this campy movie is funny and entertains. I bought this DVD without any reference and despite the flawed story, I do not totally regret. Very hard to choose the most beautiful and sexy girl in the brothel. My vote is four.

Title (Brazil): "Mustang Sally – O Prazer da Vingança" ("Mustang Sally – The Pleasure of the Revenge")

Did Any Other Reviewers Actually What This Film?
bobwildhorror6 June 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I try to be very tolerant of independent films. It has to take a lot of moxie to get any film made, let alone one on a limited budget, and MUSTANG SALLY wears its limited budget like a badge of honor. It looks like it was shot at a friend's cabin over the course of a couple days by some frat boys and their girlfriends.

Not that this is a bad thing. Sam Raimi showed everyone the possibilities of low budget horror (and the woods) with EVIL DEAD. But MUSTANG SALLY has none of the crazed energy of Sam's picture. In fact, it's difficult to classify it as a horror film despite its original title. There's nothing supernatural about it. There's nothing particularly bloody. Even the "sex scenes," which seem to be the main reason for this film's existence, are badly shot teases. There's no real nudity, just endless groping and rolling around. Lots of it. Sequence after sequence after sequence...and when that's not enough, the filmmakers split the screen into four segments so we can watch simultaneous rolling and groping.

*SPOILERS* What's the plot? As close as I could figure, a bunch of party animal frat boys overhear some bikers talking about a local whorehouse and decide to pay it a visit. The madame of the place (EG Daily of PEEWEE'S BIG ADVENTURE fame), is only to happy for their patronage, although she looks a little drug-addled and seems to be stumbling through her appearance. The guys hook up. There's groping and rolling for a good half hour of the picture. When the novelty of filming these sequences wears off, the girls try and kill the boys. And then there's a confusing revelation in which Miss Daily reveals that she was raped by the boys' fathers, had a bunch of kids, and has enlisted the aid of the bikers for payback. Why she went to such elaborate means for this revenge scheme is beyond me. It's never explained what association she had with the bikers or why the girls were so eager to assist her in this insane enterprise. It's suggested that there's some kind of relationship -- are they her daughters? -- but EG has little remorse when some of them are killed (and the others just disappear from the plot at the denouement).

Forgetting logic, because EVIL DEAD used very little and was still a classic -- here's the biggest problem: MUSTANG SALLY is either a sex film with no sex or a gore film with no gore. The "effects" are laughable. Gunshots, stabbings, gougings, are all done in cutaways. We see the after effects, but never an impact, which is unusual for this type of picture. But since there are no such distractions, this leaves us with endless dialog sequences that appear entirely improvised. Did I mention endless? All the guys speak in stilted "teen speak" that verges on the painful. The girls mumble clownishly about adolescent sexual fantasies, some of which I have to assume is intended comically, but these moments are few and far between.

How does a movie like this get distributed the world over? More important, how does it pick up so many rave reviews on IMDb?

A comedy, not horror
hazelangeleyesxo15 August 2020
This was a funny movie even though I'm sure that wasn't the intention. People get shot but react to it like 10 seconds later. The acting is so bad that this movie becomes a comedy real fast.

Whole List of Freakin' Complaints!
ZombieRanger1 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is the first movie I have ever ripped into, but it deserves every word of it.

For director/writer/producer(he who is to blame) Iren Koster, I doubt you'll ever read this, but I'm going to lay this out as clear and concise as possible to explain what went so horribly wrong with this film.

!!!(Spoilers Ahead)!!! A group of horny teenagers head to a brothel in the woods, shack up with a bevy of prostitutes and then get hunted down one by one. Sounds intriguing right! Absolutely, except for that fact that everything this movie should have had going for it, missed the mark entirely. For example...

1) The Characters(Victims) - Here we have our group of horny teens looking for action, finding an untimely death. The writer's job is to make us care about whether they live or die. We don't. The problem comes from the fact that they're actually flatter than the paper the script was printed on. We get horrible forced exposition about who all of them are for nearly 45 minutes while they drive. The most bizarre aspect of the dialog is that they don't converse like men, so much as what a teenage girl would believe guys would say to each other. They either seemed to be half grunting about sex/farts/dick jokes, or having touching chats about shyness and their hopes and dreams. Half of the movie is over by the time our friends reach the titular location. But we are fortunate enough to be treated to a Jeepers Creepers 2-esque shot of the guys taking a roadside leak while standing about three inches apart from one another. Here's the breakdown. There's the leader, the Jock, The Nerd, and some other interchangeable guys. We know the jock is a jock however because he carries a football with him... IN EVERY SCENE! While dining, driving, even in the friggin' bordello! We get it. He likes football. Move on!

2) The Villains - Major issue right off the block, is that the killers are supposed to be the sympathetic characters. Seriously. We're supposed to root for them. This becomes a problem once all the cards are on the table. You see, essentially this is a Rape/revenge picture. Mustange Sally was raped twenty years prior by the fathers of this gang of lummoxes. There lies the problem. Their FATHERS were to blame. So killing off their stupid, horny, but ultimately innocent sons is hardly justice especially since they establish that their fathers are largely estranged or dead, so there does seemed to be a flaw or two in Sally's plan. More on that later.

3) The Plot - As mentioned, Sally decides to off these schmucks. Revenge is a dish best served cold so she waits 20 years, creating a number of false identities. OK, Plausible. Then for her ultimate revenge she opens a brothel in the mountains(for only the scope of a few weeks mind you, which would cost a small fortune and raise a number of eyebrows, include her face getting lots of attention), she then lures the guys in, kills them and abandons the cabin.

4) The Payoff - All my complaints aside, let's look solely at this area. This movie is about murderous prostitutes. The cover art will tell you that the girls kill the men off according to their fears and nightmares. LIES! At one point the jock claims he can't swim. One of the girls leads him off towards the river. I think we see where this is going. They move towards the rivers edge, and then... she hits him with a rock. Apparently they didn't have enough time scheduled to involve water in this production. In fact all of the kills are done as cheaply as possible with knives, guns, and most tragically of all with a spray painted hand scythe that someone on the crew picked up around Halloween from K-Mart. Despite this being about a bordello of death, sex really never happens, nudity is kept at extreme distances or half second flashes.

5)Gaping Plot Holes - (More spoilers) Granted the premise is flimsy. I'm sure it was written quickly as something of an afterthought, but really, some of the mistakes are enormous. If our narrator is secretly Sally's son, why did they have to send in a bunch of bikers to promote this brothel when he could simply have told them about it. Why did Sally feel the need to haggle over the prices and risk running them off if she planned on killing them. And... so much more... not enough space.

"My girls aren't whores, their escort entertainers." Not too bad considering.
poolandrews8 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Mustang Sally starts as six young guys, Josh (Mark Parrish), Mike (Erik Fellows), Toby (Sonny Marler), Luke (Garrison Koch), Seamus (Sean McGene) & Ryan (Al Santos) are sitting in the local small town diner where they overhear some bikers talking about a nearby brothel run by a woman named Mustang Sally (Elizabeth Daily) & decide they'd all like a piece of the action, so to speak. They jump in Josh's car & head right on over there, when they arrive they are greeted by Sally & introduced to her 'girls' whom all pick a guy (shouldn't it have been the other way round?) & then head off to the various bedrooms for some fun. Unfortunately for the boys these hookers are homicidal maniacs with revenge on their minds...

This Canadian American co-production was co-scored, written, co-produced & directed by Iren Koster who also had a part in the film as someone called Popsie, I actually thought Mustang Sally was an OK film by which to pass 90 odd minutes. The script for the first half of the film plays like a cheap porno with these guys being introduced to some hot birds & then going off together for some fun & it's not until past this point that the horror kicks in, in fact the first half of Mustang Sally has no horror elements in it at all. Now this would have been fine but the sex scenes are really tame, there's barely any nudity, there's no variety apart from the dominatrix who gets someone to kiss her boots & ties him up & it may disappoint some in that regard, at this point I just felt a golden opportunity to be totally perverted, sleazy & exploitative had been missed. However the horror kicks in & there's some decent bloodletting & a surprisingly effective little twist at the end. It moves along at a good pace & I was never bored unlike a lot of low budget horror these day, the teenage character's weren't that annoying & it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously.

Director Kastor does alright, it's not exactly the most visually stylish film you'll ever see but it's quite well shot all the same. There's nothing particularly sexy in this, nothing explicit & the film doesn't seem to want to build up any tension or shocks. The gore levels aren't high, someone is stabbed, there's a scythe in someones chest & neck, someone has their tongue cut out & people are shot although it's not that graphic, the nudity count is also surprisingly low considering the potential of the situation & the basic material.

The budget was probably low as seen in the end when Mustang Sally's house blows up for no apparent reason, it is shown as a blurred reflection on the Sheriff's sunglasses as he 'talks' us through what's just happened because he reports it over his own radio back to the police station. As a whole it's a bit cheap looking. The acting isn't great but it ain't too bad I suppose considering the material.

Mustang Sally, maybe better known as Mustang Sally's Horror House, is a reasonably decent horror/wannabe porn film that doesn't really excel in either genre but is an OK watch if you've got nothing better to do.

Absolutely awful
toiletbreak13 November 2021
Bad acting, bad writing, forced dialog. The cast had no chemistry. The camera work was shaky and several establishing shots are recycled over and over. Sure there are some nice looking girls but they don't show up till later. Not worth the watch.

Sally Strikes Back
mickclewsmc18 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not bad for a low budget entry into the horror genre. For all intents and purposes it's a revenge movie as we see a gang of college guys heading out to a mansion called Mustang Sally's. A house of I'll repute hosted by none other than Mustang Sally herself. Hoping to further their sexual exploitation it's not long before Mustang Sally's true intentions are revealed and the intrepid college dupes find themselves caught in the midst of Sally's evil scheme. Some clever writing and tight direction coupled with some not too bad acting turns make this into an enjoyable little romp through horror-land.

A lot better than you would expect, and better than most!!
snugglebush23 November 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Mustang Sally's House of Horror is a movie where everything you think it is, is not. No, it's not really a whore house where six guys looking for sex are killed. The film is an intricate, clever setup from the very beginning. A black widow (Mustang Sally - E.G.Daily)draws her victims into her web of intrigue and murder. See, the six boys visiting her house of ill repute are actually the sons of the men who raped her and left Sally to die 20 years earlier. Now it's Sally's turn for revenge. Sally and the girls who have had similar abuse are supporting her plight. Considering the film is shot on film and not big budget fare, I think it was very well done. Nice locations, production value, acting and direction.

Okay I bought it! (pun intended)
dylanhawaii26 December 2006
I was expecting one of those silly horror flicks with this one, but I must say. I was DEAD WRONG! This story kept me riveted to the screen. I wanted to know what this was all about. I won't tell you as I don't want to spoil it for anyone else but to my surprise, it was extremely interesting. Now, of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this is mine. I wanted to take the time to comment on Mustang Sally's Horror House as it wasn't like anything else I could think of. Oh, and quite a few funny moments as well. I wish someone would come to Hawaii and make a film like this here. Hint, hint. All in all, nicely done, acted and directed.

Entertaining Movie
maddmx19 February 2007
Mustang Sally's Horror House is a fun movie for all. It's not just gore and sex like you might expect from the title. There's a real story being told. And, there's hints of comedy too. What more can you ask for? A lot of people are just looking for the action and blood in the film and have no imagination of their own; thus, making them "disappointed" when they watch this film. The classic horror films don't show all the details (i.e. the Psycho shower scene). It's your imagination that causes the anticipation and makes the movie suspenseful and scary. I feel sorry for movie goers who can only be entertained by the expensive special effects used in high end pictures, and cannot enjoy the independent film makers triumph at making a decent low budget film that has a good story, is acted well, directed well, and shot well. Watch this movie for yourself and see that it is quite entertaining!

A True Little Gem with a good story!
ibeverlyhills1 December 2006
Once in a while, a little movie is made at a low budget, that transcends most others. We've seen big budgeted movies that have a weak story but Mustang Sally tells a really captivating one and does it at a modest budget. Acting all around is believable. Nice locations, production value (a car racing a train) and it is well directed. I don't know who the director is but he/she did an excellent job. I'm a film student and know how hard it is to even get a film off the ground so this gives people like me hope. It CAN be done!! Of course talent has a lot to do with it. I saw Mustang Sally on my vacation in London, England with a bunch of friends. They all loved it. It has suspense, humor, it's sexy and let's not forget there's eye candy for all. The boys are really handsome and the girls are beautiful. If you want to watch a movie that you will enjoy on all levels, I recommend you see Mustang Sally.

I love it!
seanptrc23 November 2006
This movie was great! I loved it so much! I never got bored once while watching it! All of the acting in the film is very strong and realistic. I was so happy to see E.G. Daily star in this film, she is such a great actress! The new faces were great too! And Iren Koster is a great director! This film was so well put together, I love it! I would recommend this movie to everyone! Make sure you see this movie! It is well worth it! I enjoyed it so much! Thank you Iren Koster for making such a great film! The story line of the film is so interesting, it is unlike any other movie that I have seen. I hope to see the new actors in this movie in more films because they were so great! It's great to have new talent out in the industry now!

Now this was different and quite good. Kept my attention!!
buggybeanskala10 December 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't expect that this movie was going to have such an inventive story. I liked it and so did my friends. Not the best movie I've ever seen, but it was enjoyable. You'll have to keep watching to see what's going to happen next. The cast are all good looking, so that doesn't hurt and they all did a good job. Believable. I would also like to say that this film has a lot of comedic undertones. You'll laugh a lot. Please note, that this is not a film of blood, guts and gore. It's minor in that regard with light sex done in good taste. Of course if you're use to real raunchy horror, I wouldn't recommend this film, but on the other hand, if you want a film that has some horror, sex, sexy cast and interesting story, you'll enjoy Mustang Sally's Horror House.

Sexy Girls
thttrd13 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
My friends and I were expecting to watch a slasher film when we sat down to watch Mustang Sally's Horror House. But, it was more than that. The girls in this movie are so hot and sexy. There was more teasing than nudity, but it didn't matter, because the girls were so great! Some of the story was a little corny, but it was entertaining nonetheless. Interesting how it all turned out in the end. There was some blood to keep our attention, and really twisted murder scenes that made us squirm in our shorts (you'll understand when you see the movie), but again, it's the gorgeous girls that make this movie so great. We wouldn't have passed up the chance to go to Mustang Sally's either!

Campy!! Fun, with lots of good humour and eye candy...
ebilko3 December 2006
That's right girls. Eye candy for us. Check out the Hunks in this film. Okay, okay back to the review. I read one review where the person thought the acting was bad. Oh come on dude, lighten up! The acting was totally believable. It's suppose to be campy and it delivers. Sure, if you want to see a blood fest with gore and killings, this is NOT that movie. Go rent "SAW." But if you want to sit back and watch an interesting story, have some good laughs with a bit of horror and light sex scenes that are necessary to the plot, then this is your cup of tea. Koster weaves a clever web of intrigue. However, I think he should lend his talents to comedies. Obviously his strong point. As a person who just enjoys entertainment and a hardy laugh, I recommend this movie. Oh, and for the person who wrote about "Opinions." I applaud you. Good on ya!

This movie's a blast
hotflblaze22 December 2006
My friends and I decided to watch Mustang Sally's Horror House because we heard that the guys were sooo good looking. And, we were thrilled that they really were! The movie was sooo much fun too! We were afraid that it was going to be really scary, but were surprised by how funny it was too. We laughed throughout the whole movie, and did cringe quite a bit at some of the scarier scenes. I'm glad that this movie was so fun to watch. I actually had to watch it again because I was so surprised by the ending that I had to see it over again, kind of like you had to do when you watched the Sixth Sense the first time. This was a great movie to watch for a girls night out!

Sexy, Suspenseful, and Hilarious
tiner423 November 2006
It's about time that a horror film has been made that keeps you guessing and sitting on the edge of your seat until the end. Mustang Sally's Horror House has it all... Sexy guys and girls, thrills, murder, twists and turns, and an ending that will shock everyone! Plus, it was nice seeing brand new faces in this movie instead of the same old actors you see film after film. The director certainly has an eye for beautiful women and gorgeous guys. One guy in particular stands out - Sean McGene (Seamus McGyver). He's like a young Jim Carrey in the making - cute and a little goofy at the same time. His role is hilarious as the virgin geek who thinks he's the coolest guy in the bunch. And, of course, veteran actress E.G. Daily was outstanding. Her performance was wonderful, and she looks absolutely beautiful. I expect this film to launch quite a few careers. I also expect to see many more films for writer/director Iren Koster. He has a unique style of writing and sense of humor that is missing in so many films that are being released today. Great job. Can't wait for his next film!

Everybody has an opinion and that's the way it should be...
dschwarcz2 December 2006
However, when someone writes scathing comments and probably has never been in a film or near a set, I think it only fair that I am allowed to offer my opinion. Firstly, yes Mustang Sally won't win any Academy Awards(c) but it's entertaining and the acting was good. I've seen - and so have you seen - many big budgeted films, as well as low budgeted films, that we didn't like. That's what makes the world go around. I enjoyed the film and yes, I'm a friend of the director but why "Playhate" and disparage when these people are getting their films made. Let's see what YOU can do. We'll be waiting. If you check the number one rated movie on IMDb, "The Godfather," you'll find over 25,000 people gave it a 1 out of 10. What does that tell you? Again, I'm not finding fault with anyone's right to their opinion, but do it honestly. I saw Mustang Sally with a room filled with people who laughed and had a good time. That's what movies are supposed to be. Entertaining! Also, E.G. Daily is one of the highest paid voice over actresses in Hollywood. Is her acting horrible? Not likely. Thanks for reading.

Cheesy and watchable, but unspectacular
slayrrr66623 May 2009
Warning: Spoilers
"Mustang Sally's Horror House" is a fine film, if not exactly a spectacular one.

**SPOILERS**

Preparing to go on a trip, Josh Henderson, (Mark Parrish) decides to leave with friends Mike, (Erik Fellows) Luke, (Garrison Koch) Toby, (Sonny Marler) Ryan, (Al Santos) and Seamus, (Sean McGene) to a discrete brothel recommended to them. Arriving at the site, owned by Mustang Sally, (Elizabeth Daily) they are also introduced to the other workers at the brothel, Caressa, (Lindsey Labrum) Titianna, (Joni Kempner) Tushalean, (Alycen Malone) Persuasion, (Tina McDowelle) Kitten, (Dana Fares) and Likilick, (Deidre A. Cannon) and decide to go about their business. After several hours, they start to notice that there's something wrong there, and it dawns on them that they're being killed off one-by-one in retribution for their father's actions against her years ago. Realizing the severity of the situation, they try to get away from the psychos before they all suffer terrible fates from them.

The Good News: There was some good stuff to this one. One of the better features is that the film does have a really wicked sense of fun to it. There's an obvious sense of camp to it, as there's hardly anything here that's taken seriously and that allows the film to be a lot of fun, especially in the early goings when there's not a whole lot of action going on. The campiness is found pretty much everywhere, from their interactions with each other to the jokes they pull on each other and the different encounters they have in driving to the location. Once they get there, the campiness doesn't really stop as the different stalking scenes between the two groups are definitely not in any way meant to inspire fear but simply keep that kind of feeling about the film intact, and it's what makes those scenes so fun. Those stalking scenes, once it gets to that time of the film, are another big part of the film's enjoyment, not only because they're not at all that serious but also because they're a lot of fun in their own right. The big one, where the couple on the nature walk turn on each other is a lot of fun, with the different escapes and tactics used on each other through a great setting makes it a good time to be had, and once it involves those who stumble upon it with just as much ferocity, it gets all the more entertaining and enjoyable. The later scene through the forest, with the big brawling, messy deaths, action-packed conclusion and more is another big plus for the film, getting a lot of points involved that are instrumental in getting a lot of fun times out of it. That the girls are involved in them just as much as the guys is a big plus here, making them look just as good here and in the film overall because of these scenes. Of course, the main fact that they all have rather distinct looks to them when they're in the rooms earlier for the different trysts at the brothel is another big plus, as these run the gamut from erotic to sensual to dominatrix to outright sleazy, and are fun for that factor. The last plus here is the film's deaths, as despite the fact it's not a real bloodbath, the kills do get messy. There's a couple gunshot wounds, a rock repeatedly bashed across the forehead, a scythe impaled in the stomach and a neck, a couple are violently run over by a car and there's some stabbing as well, so there's some good stuff here. These are the film's good points.

The Bad News: There wasn't a whole lot to this one that really kept it down. One of the biggest flaws here is the fact that, as a film set in a brothel, there's hardly any nudity at all. There's some of it, which isn't bad at all, but isn't even close to what would be expected at a place that's featured here. The inability to strip down is furthered even more when only one of them spends anything more than a few seconds nude or even topless, and again, considering the location where it takes place, isn't even close to what would be expected at such a place in the real world, where it would be more commonplace. The other part here that doesn't work at all is the incredibly ludicrous and highly confusing ending to this. This here makes no sense at all, doesn't really do much at all for the film, and worse of all, makes no sense in the context of the film. Nothing is really explained about how it happened, none of the events leading up to it have any mention of it, and the whole thing is wrapped up with a feeling of stupidity. Some might call the beginning a little dull, but it sets up the rest of the action and can be forgiven. Otherwise, these are the film's problems.

The Final Verdict: It's not that bad of a film altogether, but it's not one that's going to be really remembered if it didn't happen. Give this one a shot if it's something that might appeal to you or you enjoy these kinds of slashers, otherwise this is one that should be meet with extreme caution despite the positives listed.

Rated R: Graphic Language, Graphic Violence, several Sex Scenes of differing severity and Nudity

A great little camp horror movie about a group of students looking for fun before another long semester at college!

This movie has it all - girls, guys, horror, twists and turns. A great little story, well written and deftly directed.

Mustang Sally Rocks!
