Really fun Christmas horror movie

I saw this last month with my family, we have this semi-morbid tradition of watching the original 1974 movie every year during the holidays, so naturally I wanted to see this remake - and I was surprised! OK, OK, it's not as scary or serious as the original was - but that doesn't mean it wasn't fun! The story is reworked from the original with a few similarities, but is mostly it's own film. There are plenty of great scare moments and some really in-your-face violent scenes. The acting all around was great and I really liked all of the girls in the film, and felt bad for them when they met their untimely demises. The pace is quick and hardly lets up, and we get a lengthy back story on the killer, something the original kept a mystery. Plus there's a twisted sense of holiday spirit that can be found in this film. The original film is better in terms of a classic, quality horror movie, but this remake is just as good, but in a different way. You may say you didn't enjoy this film, but you can't say that it wasn't fun!
