In the Japanese version of Splatterhouse, Rick, the main character, has a white mask. When the game came available in the United States, the U.S. creators changed the mask color from white to red so Rick won't resemble too much of the serial killer, Jason Voorhees, from the Friday the 13th (1980) films.
