On the heels of the premiere of the first footage from Mad Max: Fury Road at the SXSW Film Festival the film has now scored a hard-r rating from the MPAA for "intense sequences of violence throughout, and for disturbing images." That should make fans of the franchise happy as we are now just under two months away from the film's May 15 release. Also in today's bulletin in Fox Searchlight's Sundance acquisition and Oscar hopeful Brooklyn, David Gordon Green's Manglehorn starring Al Pacino, the new Melissa McCarthy comedy Spy (read Mike's review from SXSW right here) and a re-rate of Johnny Depp's Mortdecai, most likely for home video release. You'll also notice an R-rating for a movie called Tooken, which is, as you probably guessed, a Taken parody starring the likes of Donnie Wahlberg, Lukas Haas and Jenny McCarthy. Check out the complete bulletin below. The 100-Year Old...

Inspired by true events that shocked the world and to this day still frighten and fascinate, The House at the End of the Drive was shot on location on Cielo Drive… just a knife’s throw away from the site of the Manson/Tate murders.
Produced by the homeowner David Oman, the movie blends fact with fiction as supernatural forces from the past transport he and his dinner guests through time -- back to the night of the original murders.
The movie recently enjoyed a big red carpet gala premiere in Hollywood at Shockfest (where it took home “Best Writer” honors in the closing Awards). We were lucky enough to catch up with Oman for this exclusive interview.
Dread Central: I’ve been hearing about your haunted house for years, but I never did have the, er, pleasure of visiting. I recall, a few years back, you used to host film screenings and tours.

Here at Dread Central filmmakers often approach us with projects that were filmed at haunted locations. Rarely, though, does anyone offer up any real proof of strange things going on; and it's that very proof that has piqued our interest in The House at the End of the Drive.
The film, directed by David Worth (The Man with the Screaming Brian), stars James Oliver (Our Fathers, Rescue Dawn), Angela Jones (Pulp Fiction), Jonathan Mangum (Raising Helen, The Bucket List), and Alison Raimondi (Club Dread), co-starring Jessica Szohr ("Gossip Girl") with a special guest appearance by Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Pumpkinhead, Near Dark).
The film is a part-fact/part-fiction story based on producer David Oman's experiences living in one of America's most haunted houses, which sits right down the drive from where the Manson Family murders took place 43 years ago. Sound interesting? You bet it does. Check out a few exclusive...

Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr (she plays Vanessa, don't you know) is set to make a splash as fish food, ahem, star in the remake of the cult 1978 horror Piranha 3-D.According to sources, she will play "Kelly, a hot young townie caught up in the excitement of co-eds who have descended upon the area for spring break". Szohr joins the stellar line up of Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Adam Scott and Richard Dreyfuss for the film directed by The Hills Have Eyes' Alexandre Aja.Szohr is no stranger to schlock horror, having starred in the whosville productions of House At The End Of The Drive with Lance Henriksen and Somebody Help Me about murder in the woods starring a whole host of unknowns. So it's likely that given past tendencies to camp out at remote log cabins and mess with scary looking neighbours, and the fact that Szohr's character...
