A short dream of a film steeped in French New Wave but with a distinctive stamp from a true new talent. Viscarret interweaves dreamscapes and touches of surrealism into a touchingly funny script that is not without a degree of pathos. There are several distinctive shots that sear into the memory, not least the sidestreet views of our hero on his bicycle and an angelic Verónica Echegui dressing in the morning light- what a girl! The film is also rich in one-line gems which show the director's versatility as a writing talent. Fans of Godard, Truffaut as well as new Spanish cinema should see this one- one to watch from one to watch..
