Blood Drips is what happens when teenage boys have a movie camera on a movie set.
MondieGoil15 September 2005
For any fan of Newsies, Blood Drips is entirely necessary for your film collection. The actors from the movie Newsies used a video camera and filmed a horror movie with Mark David starring as the protagonist who just wants a role in the movie, Newsies. You can get it offline on various fan sites, or if you're really lucky, you might have a friend who gives you his copy as a gift (Thanks again, Charlie!). It's very cute and teenage-boyish. I've personally shown it to all of my friends here at college, and we love it. Michael Goorjian is pretty much our hero -- not to mention Mark David, who has an impeccable Don Knotts impersonation. It's only too bad that Aaron Lohr's part was so very small. ;) But honestly, it's very cute and planned well -- and includes behind-the-scenes looks at movie sets, and interesting directing choices. Some of the humor is very low-brow (it IS teenage boys writing/directing/starring in this, after all), but overall charming and very funny.

Delightful fun from your friendly neighborhood Newsies!
The_Lady_Amalthea26 November 2005
So you can't get enough of the Newsies huh. Well, buckle up kids this is not your family Disney movie! Filled with curse words, sexual innuendos and extreme violence. I would give it a rating of at LEAST PG13. Join our adorable newsie Specs, played by Mark David, as he transforms into a jealous and ruthless Don Knotts who vows to destroy the Newsies if it's that last thing he does. Follow him as he goes on a killing rampage, try to keep up with him and figure out who he will strike next.

Basically it's the type of movie that the neighborhood boys tend to make around the ages of 15 to 18 when they get bored. But truly it is brilliant. The editing, the sound, even the plot! So if you just can't get enough of your Newsies and you are able to hear an F word or two... Go watch it!

Hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
I LOVED this movie. However, it wasn't on DVD and I don't think it has been released onto DVD yet, this was definitely not a waste of time on their part. The actors are just so funny and you look at this and think "These are not the people I had expected them to be" and it's just wonderful! It has cameo's by everyone who participated in Newsies except for Ann Margaret, Robert Duvall, and Gabriel Damon (Spot Conlon). It is definitely worth the money spent to buy it. The creativity and time that the actors used to make this is extraordinary and, understanding that they were all amateur filmographers it is definitely something worth checking out. Especially if you wonder if the actors are like their newsie counterpart. The film also features Lucy Broyer who played Janine on Doogie Howser with Max Casella (and I believe she was his girlfriend at the time) however, the film features hilarious dialog and great antics. I highly suggest this film to everyone.

I Absolutely 100% Love This Movie!

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a great movie for any and every Newsies fan! My friend and I have been obsessed with Newsies and we stumbled across this movie, and I was surprised to see it listed on IMDb. We have analyzed every frame of Newsies and now Blood Drips. The movie however is very heavy in language, but what do you expect? They are a bunch of teenage boys, except Max and maybe a few others, making a brilliant master piece, there has to be cursing. To roughly recap this movie is Don Knotts is friends with Kenny Ortega and wants to be in his movie Newsies. After a disappointing "No!" from Kenny Don seeks revenge by killing off one by one the cast of Newsies. The hilarious Mark David plays Don Knotts, and a very convincing one at that! The movie takes many wacky twists and turns through out it, and is always fun to pop in! So, I would advise any and every true Newsies fan to watch this hilarious piece of art on a nice, relaxing day off. <3

Guilty pleasure potential

Warning: Spoilers
"Blood Drips Heavily on Newsies Square" is a relatively long title for a fairly short film. This one is from 1991, so over 25 years old already and I think it is a little add-on for the Christian Bale movie and I don't believe I've across this one either. It is a little fake documentary about a "washed-up" actor who gets rejected, but goes on a killing spree afterwards because if he shall not act, then nobody shall. One of the jokes is that the actor is actually pretty young still and far from old and washed-up as he is described. The director is Michael A. Goorjian, who went on to win an acting Emmy not much later and yes this film here is of course not famous for him, but for the young Christian Bale, who is first-cast, but only so because of his name. He does not really have that much screen time, so I would not say that being a Christian Bale fan makes you really qualified to watch this film. Not at all. There is a solid moment here and there like the three little pigs reference with the murderous wolf outside the trailer, but it's not enough, not even for a film under half an hour. but there is potential thhat you could say it is so bad that it is actually almost good again, or at least entertaining. I did enjoy at times. All in all, tolerable for an amateur film, too weak for a movie and as this is the Internet Movie Database, I have to give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended.

When teenage boys get together and make a movie

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this movie. I loved Newsies so I knew that I was going to love this movie. The actors are clever, fun. smart, and so entertaining. I wish that I could watch Newsies movies everyday. This movie is about how Someone (Specs)who wants to be in the Newsies movie but is rejected. So he goes on a killing spree. He kills all the Newsies one after another. And all in a different way. I would recommend this movie to all Newsies fans, and all the people in the world. it rocks, and you would have to be crazy not to see it. My absolute favorite character in this movie is Christian Bale(Jack Kelly). But I wish that Gabriel Damons(Spot Conlon) was in this movie. It could have been even better. Maybe. I mean it couldn't get much better than it already is. Love the biggest Newsies fan ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
