Graveyard of Empires Graphic Novel: “From Alexander the Great’s Macedonian army to Genghis Khan’s Mongol horde to the British Imperial machine of the nineteenth to the Soviet Union to the twenty-first century United States of America, no occupying force has ever been able to control Afghanistan — the very reason it’s known as the Graveyard of Empires. Mark Sable and Paul Azaceta drew upon that history in their Image Comics series Graveyard Of Empires, set in present-day Afghanistan, where American troops are caught in a seemingly unending conflict with the Taliban. That is, until a new enemy enters the field: the undead.

With a mask somewhat reminiscent of Rorschach from Watchmen or Kroenen from Hellboy, the mysterious Dr Savior has been unveiled in upcoming horror film Donors.
Behind the mask of the "diabolical" doctor (above) is genre actor/producer DJ Perry. Earlier this year, we brought you the first teaser poster and some cast pictures featuring Perry alongside co-stars French/Philippine beauty Anne Gauthier and former Bond girl Lana Wood (famous for her role as Plenty O'Toole in 1971's Diamonds Are Forever starring Sean Connery), who is playing a character called Norma.
Paisaen Productions in association with Collective Development Inc has today announced that the Charles Pisaeno-directed horror thriller has moved into post-production sound and scoring.
The film, also written by Pisaeno, is about a troubled young woman (Niki Saletta, pictured below) abducted by a mysterious man known as Doctor Savior (DJ Perry).

Sometimes the title of a film simply defines it. Take for example John Carter. Why would you spend a quarter of a billion dollars on a film then give it the most boring title you can come up with? But how about calling your film Merry F@#$ing Christmas? Now that's an attention grabber.
Black Snow Productions has announced that Merry F@#$ing Christmas will have a release date during the 2012 holiday season. Principal photography will begin in the summer. The first segment to be shot is entitled Alexandria. It will be directed by Otis (Second World Series, Dead Reckoning) and Jaye Lowe (Dead Reckoning) and star Elyse Dufour, Josh Murray (Adams Morgan, The Soliloquy) and Brent Bauer (Second World 3 and 4).

Indie horror thriller Renovation will now be released under the title Deadly Renovations, it has been announced.
The film centres on a group of property developers who turn into greed-driven killers when they discover their hotel project may contain a hidden stash of millions of dollars.
Renovation was shot in Yuma, Arizona, and directed by Robert Gwinn. It's slated for distribution theatrically in select markets by Nocturnal Features. It will release domestically (North America) with Midnight Releasing and overseas with Acort International, in 2012.
A statement from the filmmakers said: "The adjustment in the title will help audiences cue into the subject matter of this dark, graphic and often disturbing film.
"This decision was made to avoid any confusion that this might be a Sunday morning reality how-to show about home repairs. Quite to the contrary, this film is about deceit, deception and, as the title now reflects, deadly actions."

We've been keeping tabs on Gothic Productions International's Darkest Night, a film with almost all Filipino actors as well as American DJ Perry (The 8th Plague, Wicked Spring) and some Malaysian talent to round out its cast and crew, and over the weekend five fresh stills landed in our inbox to shed a bit of light on what we can expect.

More wicked indie tales are on the way in the latest fear fest, Darkest Night, and we have all the details and the first stills for you! Dig it!
From the Press Release
Gothic Productions International, a Philippine company funded by U.S. independent resources, has finished shooting its latest production, a horror film titled Darkest Night, in Luzon. The film has almost all Filipino actors as well as American DJ Perry of The 8th Plague, Wicked Spring, and many other popular U.S. horror films. The film also sports Malaysian talent to round out its international cast and crew.
At best, most "original" U.S. horror films are remakes of Asian films that somehow lose their magic in translation, according to Perry.
Darkest Night unfolds in a "found video and documentary" style. Its story plops American Perry right in the middle to allow Western audiences to experience a "holiday" trip away from home.

Renovation Thriller Creeps to First Theaters! The 1st Yuma, Arizona feature film collaboration between Rampart Entertainment, Paisaen Productions and Collective Development Inc. had a “work in progress” theatrical test showing in October 2010. A great crowd gathered to watch this suspenseful thriller with a soliddose of scare and gore. The film follows an Ex-Con played by a new genre favorite Anthony Hornus (“Blood Ties”, upcoming “Locked in a Room”) as he's released from prison and goes in search of stolen money from a bank heist many years earlier. The money seems to be hidden in the now empty Hotel Del Sol recently purchased by a group of renovators led by Allen Liarsby played by another genre favorite DJ Perry (“The 8th Plague”, “Gps”). The film also features screen vets Lana Wood ("Book of Ruth, Journey of Faith"), Johnny Dark ("Resurrection”), Fred Griffith ("Dean Teaster's Ghost Town") and Terence Knox ("Tour of Duty") in roles.

DJ Perry has had many releases and unlike many actors his fans are from various genres. The family faith market knows DJ from films like “Book of Ruth, Journey of Faith” and “Figure in the Forest.” Other fans know DJ from westerns like “Miracle at Sage Creek,” “Ghost Town,” “Wicked Spring” and “Judges.” The blood and boobs fanzombies know DJ from films such as “The 8th Plague,” “An Ordinary Killer,” and “Gps.” He has even done some comedy in films like “From Venus” and “Tangy Guacamole” both looking at getting re-releases in light of new attention.
“DJ Perry adds a flavor that is completely unique and I believe he will help put some grit back into American actors,” laughs UK director John Regan speaking on his upcoming “Sherwood Horror” film that has Perry cast as the films lead Rob Locksley. The modernized tale has Robin Hood do what all anti-Twilight folks would like to do.

It's been a while since we've heard anything about Renovation, an upcoming thriller directed by Robert Gwinn and starring D.J. Perry, but today we learned they've completed their trailer and opened up a spiffy new website as well.
Here's the latest according to producer/co-star Perry:
Renovation is about stolen money and some very dark individuals searching for its whereabouts. It seems the money may be hidden at the classic Hotel Del Sol. Needless to say, when greed comes into play, certain people will have to pay.
Screenwriter/producer Charles Pisaeno brought a script full of action and graphic violence, and director Robert Gwinn was more than happy to capture it. Acting veterans Terence Knox (Tour of Duty, The Hunters), Lana Wood (Diamonds are Forever), Johnny Dark (David Letterman), Fred Griffith (Gods and Generals), Anthony Hornus (An Ordianry Killer), and Dean Teaster (Dean Teaster’s Ghost Town) joined a very...
