Giorgio Locatelli's chargrilled mackerel with herb crust
Mackerel is a fantastic but underrated fish, which is brilliant cooked inside a crispy herb crust that protects the fish, keeping it moist and trapping in all the delicate flavours. You can do this with mackerel fillets, too, in the same way, but leave out the stuffing and cook the fillets, skin side first, for 2-3 minutes, depending on the thickness, then turn over for a further 2-3 minutes.
Serves 4
tomatoes 4, diced
olive oil 100ml
white onions 4, cut into about 2cm dice
white wine vinegar 3 tbsp
salted capers (preferably baby ones) 4 tbsp, rinsed
medium-sized mackerel 4, gutted
rosemary 4 sprigs
garlic 4 cloves
mixed salad leaves 4 handfuls
Giorgio's vinaigrette 4 tbsp (see below)
For the herb crust
parsley a small bunch, picked
rosemary a small bunch,...

Cinema Made In Italy, London
Though we don't get to see that much of it here, Italian cinema is still going strong. This renamed festival shows some of the depth, with new films at Ciné Lumière, and older stuff at the Italian Cultural Institute. The new movies cover some familiar Italian preoccupations: organised crime (boxing thriller Tatanka, from a story by Roberto "Gomorrah" Saviano), family (Kryptonite) and coming of age (Summer Of Giacomo). But there are also new angles on Italian culture, such as Li And The Poet, dealing with a Chinese immigrant in Venice, and sci-fi The Last Man On Earth. Many of the films on show are UK premieres, including Scialla!, and there are films selected by the Corriere della Sera's top critic, TV sporting dramas and a tribute to the late Sicilian documentarian Vittorio De Seta.
Ciné Lumière, SW7, Sat to Thu; Italian Cultural Institute, SW1, Thu to 30 Mar

Bad House Film dropped a pretty spicy meatball on us today with the launch of the website for the disturbing new Italian film Made in Italy. Maybe it's just me, but something about this mock documentary gives me A Serbian Film vibe. Skin, commence crawling.
There's very little info available on Made in Italy right now, other than that it's in post-production and directed by someone named Jephta. But you can check out the trailer below. A combination of the realistic way it was shot and the subject matter that could easily be pulled from today's outlandish headlines makes it very effective.
More info will be continuously added in the coming days, but check out the freshly launched Made in Italy website . You can also give them a like on the Made in Italy Facebook page

Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of American Vogue, has earned the ire of the Italians for compacting the Milan fashion week to three days instead of five. Even the mayor of Milan has issued an anti-Anna Wintour statement.
The Italians are blaming the fashion institution for insisting that the Milan fashion shows be squeezed to three days instead of their usual five for this season, Wwd said.
On Friday, newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that "Letizia Moratti, mayor of Milan, sent a message to the editor-in-chief of Vogue America, Anna Wintour: 'Nobody, not even if her name is Anna Wintour, can take the liberty to do and undo our fashion calendar. For this reason, we must all work united.'"
Another paper, Il Sole 24 Ore, also wrote that ".Wintour has been imposing her diktats on the dates of the Milan runway shows for yours. .Made in Italy fashion is a...
