Good fun

This is a sexy, funny film easily equal in quality to any teen romantic comedy released by Hollywood over the last few years.

The girls are glamorous and beautiful, the guys (aside from the 'socially inept male main character') are well dressed and confident. It bucks the trend of recent British comedies, replacing the squalor of, say, Shaun Of The Dead, with a deliberately slick, glossy, carefree world that has the characters thinking nothing of snacking on some leftover popcorn or attending an after-work pool party.

The writing is genuinely clever in places, and the production values are high. Visual humour abounds, but nothing is overdone and cringe worthy. The comic-book narration is a particularly fine example of the device.

I recommend this film to anyone wanting to have a disposable, fun time. Definitely a film for couples. Humorously dirty, it should appeal to anyone between 15 and 30.

In one of life's ironies, as I was watching it in the cinema, a large family with several very young children walked in to the auditorium during the film's 'kissing lessons' scene, mere minutes after the main character is warned to double check the screen number on punters' tickets. Real life, you cannot make this stuff up.

An average "feel good" movie.

But since when does "average" equal "bad"? This movie was funny most of the time and as unlikely as it may seem the movie even contains a few plot twist and an unexpected ending! The characters are kinda generic but that's OK because you don't watch movies like these for exceptional originality anyway. In fact, as it turns out, these movies are better the lower they're rated on IMDb. Sound stupid but most of the time it's true.

The movie is about this anime geek that falls in love with a girl working at the local theater and after numerous attempts to even say a single word to her he decides to apply for a position in the theater! For some reason he becomes a lot less shy but if you'd just ignore that then we can move on. Mkay? Alright, after the tour through the complex Danny (the main character) meets the people behind the projectors and after they discover that Danny's in love (How can anyone see that within less then an hour? Meh, moving on.) they decide to help him out and that's kinda were things gets worse for Danny.

Screw the IMDb ratings, most of the time they're wrong anyway. How can anyone rate a movie who's intention it never was to be exceptional? The movie is definitely worth the watch, but then again that's my opinion. Guess you'll have to see the movie for yourself to make your own opinion. Here's hoping for some sort of sequel...
