• Lady Gaga went three for three at Tuesday's Brit Awards in London, winning international album, female and breakthrough act. Home-grown boy band Jls won best British breakthrough act and best single for "Beat Again." Dizzee Rascal, Florence and the Machine and Lily Allen also picked up prizes. "Two special categories were created to celebrate the 30th Brits ceremony -- the Spice Girls' 1997 performance of their hits 'Wannabe' and 'Who Do You Think You Are' was named the best moment in Brits history, while Oasis' '(What's the Story) Morning Glory' was named best album. Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher accepted the award, with no sign of brother Noel, and threw the statuette straight into the...

The 'Poker Face' singer took home trophies for International Album, International Breakthrough Act and International Female Solo Artist. Show host Peter Kay quipped: "She's won every international awards apart from International Male!" Accepting her first award, Gaga said: "Thank you so much, I love my fans, thank you so much for everything," before reeling off a list of people who she wanted to thank. By the time she accepted her third award, for Best International Album, she was in tears. She said: "I was really excited about winning the first two awards, but this one means more because I worked so hard on this album for so long, and when I think about all that I went through and all the years of struggling and my fans - they were the first ones to recognise my abilities." Gaga also performed a song at the event - which she dedicated to...

The winners of this year's Brit Awards have been announced, and Lady GaGa walked away as the one artist scoring the most nods on the special night. Nominated for the awards' international kudos, the dance queen swept away all three of the nominations she earned. She took home International Female Solo Artist, International Album and International Breakthrough Act.
In collecting her first prize International Breakthrough Act, the 23-year-old paid an emotional tribute to the late Alexander McQueen, referring him as Lee. "Thank you to Lee McQueen," she said in a strained voice. Upon receiving her Best International Album kudo for her effort "The Fame", she thanked fans and stated, "this award means even more to me cos I worked on this album for so long."

Lady GaGa dominated this year's Brit Awards which was held on February 16 at Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London. The dance queen who arrived on the red carpet in a beehive and huge white dress won three prizes.
First, she picked up International Breakthrough Act, beating Animal Collective, Daniel Merriweather, Empire of the Sun and Taylor Swift. She cried when collecting the award, "I love my fans, thank you my fans in the UK. I can't tell you how much this means to me."
During the acceptance speech, she also mentioned Alexander McQueen who passed away last week. That was the second time she gave a shot out to her designer friend. Earlier that evening, she paid tribute to him when performing a medley of her acoustic songs.
After a video message from Prince Harry, GaGa was once again called out to come onto the stage for her second gong.

Director: Jacques Audiard

Reviews have been stellar around the world for the film which quickly became the most universally admired entry in the often hotly contentious first week of Cannes back in May. From a breakout performance by Tahar Rahim,...

Mother and Child
Opens: 2010
Cast: Naomi Watts, Annette Bening, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington
Director: Rodrigo Garcia
Summary: A tale of a mother and daughter, separated at birth, who struggle with the damage done by the most important person missing in their lives while a young African-Americn woman deals with an unwanted pregnancy and the adoption process.
Analysis: Scoring rave reviews in Toronto, the $7 million latest effort of Rodrigo Garcia ("Nine Lives," "Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her") once again shows off his skill at weaving multiple narratives together in clever and unexpected ways. At its heart it's an emotional family drama, but Garcia excels with his female characters which makes the involvement of Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington and especially Annette Benning thrilling.
The few criticisms levelled at the film were toward some pacing and credibility issues in the last act, but otherwise praised it for not...
