This episode takes place from September to December 1907 and on July 21, 1947.
This is the second of two episodes of season five to be directed by Alfred Hitchcock, both with Patrick Macnee in a supporting role.
Hitchcock appears at the show's end, held with a rope against a mountain. He comments about departing before becoming the source of a legend, an "abdominal snowman", a self-deprecating joke about his girth.
