A ticking time bomb
coltras3519 May 2022
This suspenseful tale is about a vengeful judge who sets a lethal trap for his cheating wife and her mysterious lover but things don't go as planned. This is a good episode, well-acted especially by the jealous judge- the twist right at the end is a humdinger especially when you consider the pains the judge went through to get his revenge.

Suspenseful !

Warning: Spoilers
McMillian's Judge Magrew is a thoroughly despicable bastard in this story to say the very least.

Corrupt and just plain nasty in his job and insanely jealous in his personal life, he believes his wife is having an affair with a younger man so he plans to kill them both by using a bomb device he confiscated from an arsonist who faced him in court.

All is going to plan when he is knocked out by two burglars who then leave him bound to a chair and gagged in the basement facing the bomb he left on a work bench. He wakes up too late to warn the two robbers ( not that it would be much use with his mouth firmly taped up ) and he's forced to watch the clock tick down to the appointed time when it would go off.

He desperately tries to free himself, but the ropes are well tied and he can only make small muffled noises through the gag.

His wife arrives home with the younger man and he uselessly tries calling out to get their attention ( you have to suspend some disbelief as he can clearly hear their conversation yet he can't " mmmfff " or grunt loud enough for them to hear him ).

All in all, a very well done remake of the 1940s radio play and 1950s Hitchcock TV episode.

Don't try an ideal you saw in court as it may backfire on you!

This "AHP" episode from May of 1986 season 1 episode 21 called "Four O' Clock" is one that's interesting and twist with drama and suspense and it proves don't try another ideal as a plan because it may just not work! Anyway stubborn and weathered crooked under the table judge Paul Magrew(Kenneth McMillan) seems to start thinking that his elegant trophy socialite wife is having an affair on him. So later after he hears a court case an ideal has sprung to his mind after he sees a manmade alarm bomb device in the courtroom. It's like he has plans to put flames and smoke to his and Karen's marriage. Only the story twist when two burglars break into Paul's house sure he's set up the alarm clock and device only he's surprised by being tied up and has his mouth taped by the intruders. The plot thickens will the device go off before four? Or can Karen take a break from trying to get intimate with her new love! By finding Paul after the break in. Overall good tale that proves don't try other things to solve problems and it proves nothing goes as expected something or someone always interferes!
