The return of a friend
Tweekums25 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The plot continues to thicken when Sydney's dream therapy leads her to learn that her she must see her old friend Will, who is now in witness protection if she is to learn the meaning of "St. Aidan". When she meets Will she learns that St. Aidan is the code name of one of his contacts, a contact who turns out to be Lazarey, the man she thought she had murdered. Unfortunately he is snatched by Sark before he can say much, he does however give them a clue to where they can get an important clue regarding her missing time which Sydney and Will must fight Sark and Allison. Meanwhile Lindsey is continuing to plot to have Sydney killed at the hand over with the Covenant, something he will come to regret.

There was plenty of action in this episode and some humour as Will and Sydney pretend to be members of an up and coming band to get a room in the hotel where the item they need is stored.

Disappointing

Warning: Spoilers
After "Conscious", which is IMO one of the all-time best "Alias" episodes, "Remnants" is a rather disappointing follow-up. Disappointment #1: Door 47. It was the cliffhanger of the previous episode, and what is actually behind it is underwhelming to say the least. Disappointment #2: David Cronenberg. They only bring him back for about 3 minutes of screen time, then give him a rather unworthy exit. Disappointment #3: Allison. I just hope this wasn't her final appearance on the show, because it would be a poor send-off indeed. Disappointment #4: The sniper twist. As soon as Sloane said "Your target is a government employee", I guessed his plan (I did like the irony of someone actually paying for his own assassination). That very rarely happens to me on this show. Any good points? Well, yes: Will's guest return is welcome, and his initial reactions upon seeing Sydney are very believable. You also gotta love Sark's wink to Sydney, and Jack's line: "Lindsey was going to arrest us whether I punched him or not. I wasn't going to miss the opportunity"! *** out of 4.
