Sydney & Lauren as a team and Sloane as a double agent!

Sydney puts a tracking device on the wounded Vaughn so that the CIA can find and rescue him, and when Sark moves up the schedule of the exchange between Simon Walker's team and the Covenant the latter do get their hands on the biological weapon they wanted, which they use to release from prison a notorious arms dealer who wants revenge on Sloane for ratting on him. Meanwhile, Jack poses as a new client for Simon as part of his plan to arrest him and question him about "Julia". As you can probably see from the synopsis, this is a quite complex episode with several little plots running at once. There is a terrific car chase sequence with Sydney and Lauren doing some buddy-type teamwork, a strange Vaughn dream where it seems that he both desires and fears Sydney now, Justin Theroux makes an excellent creep, Jack proves to be a quick draw, Marshall gets to triumph at Black Jack and Sloane (who is almost functioning as this season's Irina - a person with a guilty past that may be useful to the CIA in bringing down persons with guilty presents) once again steals the show. I'd say that's more than enough for 42 minutes of television. *** out of 4.

Continuing where "A Missing Link" left off Sydney phones the office so they can find the wounded Vaughn, unfortunately while she is doing that Simon has sold the biological weapon to The Covenant. Back in LA she tells Lauren that she was responsible for Vaughn's stabbing, even though it was to prevent him being shot Lauren is not pleased. Using the weapon the Covenant rescue Kazari Bomani, a man who wants to take revenge on Sloane for causing his capture.

After Bomani kidnaps Sloane we have a spectacular chase where Lauren and Sydney try to rescue him but fail. Sloane manages to talk his way out of captivity by telling The Covenant where they can get a next generation computer virus, to prevent this happening Sydney and Marshall must go to Osaka to disable it before Sark arrive.

As with most episodes there is plenty of great action and it is nice to see Marshall get out of the office and go on a mission for a change. The season's new character, Lauren, is developing nicely her interactions with Sydney seem to be defrosting slightly.
