Introducing Julian Sark
Tweekums6 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Following on from the attack on SD-6 there is another attack on a different criminal organisation based in Hong Kong; normally this would be a cause for celebration bit it means there is another player in the game who is rapidly collecting Rambaldi artefacts and nobody seems to know who is running this operation. One possible lead is a member of K-Directorate; in order to get information off him Sydney and Dixon must head to Vegas to plant a bug on him. Shortly before heading to Vegas Sydney learns that her friend Francie's fiancé had an affair a mere two months before; she intends to deal with it later but when she is in Vegas she sees Francie and Charlie heading to the casino wedding chapel; she must stop them... it is a good thing she'd told them she'd be in Vegas!

This was an entertaining episode; I loved Dixon's Jamaican disguise; the dreadlocks were a great touch! There was some decent action although I have no idea how that one guard managed to miss Sydney with an AK-47 while she was dangling in the open! I am pleased that Francie's subplot appears to be over as it always seemed a bit of a distraction from the main story; at least Will's subplot has an element of danger to it. This episode is notable for the introduction of David Ander's as Julian Sark, The Man's negotiator. I look forward to seeing more of this interesting new character in future episodes.

A transitional episode
gridoon20245 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
There's a new player in the game; he is known as The Man. He ordered the attack on the SD-6 headquarters, and at the same time another one of his commando teams was attacking the front building of an enemy spy organization, FTL, killing their boss and stealing another Rambaldi artifact. Now The Man has contacted K-Directorate and has asked for a meeting. Wanting to know more about that meeting, SD-6 sends Sydney and Dixon to Las Vegas to plant a bug on the K-Directorate middleman who will arrange it. To approach him, Dixon has to pose as a Jamaican (!) V.I.P and face him in a game of poker. Good production values (the Las Vegas casino is especially lavish), a potentially great new addition to the supporting cast (David Anders as The Man's representative - and executioner), but a little too much Francie and Charlie, whose story is so far the least interesting one on the show, although this episode does try to make them a part of Sydney's mission by bringing them to Vegas as well. *** out of 4.
