- Gregory Morgan: Who you talking to?
- Dorothy Jane Torkelson: Oh, nobody. Well, OK, if you promise not to tell anyone.
- Gregory Morgan: Hey, your secret's safe with me.
- Dorothy Jane Torkelson: This may sound a little strange to you, but you know how some people write in journals, others meditate? Well, I talk to the Man in the Moon. Pretty weird, huh?
- Gregory Morgan: Oh, no, no, no, I understand. I - I used to talk to this squirrel that lived in a big pine tree outside my bedroom window, and I'd tell him things that happened that day, problems I was having, dreams for my future. Private stuff.
- Dorothy Jane Torkelson: That's really sweet. Do you still talk to the squirrel?
- Gregory Morgan: No, he got hit by a car. And they cut down the tree, and now I talk to a shrink.
- Millicent Torkelson: That new school of yours is really somethin'. I can't believe you're taking French in the fifth grade. Say somethin' else in French.
- Chuckie Lee Torkelson: Il y a une odeur dans ma chambre d'hôtel.
- Millicent Torkelson: [wistfully] That sounds so romantic. What'd you say?
- Chuckie Lee Torkelson: My hotel room stinks.
