Quotes

  • Commander Adama : [broadcasting via Unicom]  People of the fleet, this is Commander Adama. Rumors are spreading faster than fact about the discovery of a manned vehicle soon to be brought aboard the Galactica. I must ask you all to be patient and cautious in your optimism. The incoming vessel will have to be placed in strict quarantine, carefully, before we can allow anyone near it, for fear of jeapardising not only our own lives, but the lives of whoever is aboard that spaceship. Hopefully, this is our first contact with an Earth vehicle.

  • Dr. Wilker : So far, I've determined that the atmosphere of the planet these people came from is approximately one-fifth the atmosphere of Caprica. Also, there are references to another planet called Terra...

Commander Adama : Wait a centon.

    Dr. Wilker : Yes, sir.

Commander Adama : Terra... Terra in Gemonese means Earth!

Captain Apollo : That doesn't mean this is the planet Earth we're looking for.

  • Statesman Geller : You have your orders, doctor.

Dr. Salik : And you sir, have a problem with finding another doctor.

    [he walks out]

Statesman Geller : Adama, talk to him.

Commander Adama : Oh, I plan to.

    Statesman Geller : Excellent.

Commander Adama : I plan on telling him that he has given me one of the proudest moments of my life.

[he stands up to address the Council of the Twelve]

Commander Adama : Something marvelous has happened here. Please... do not let it pass unnoticed.

[he starts to leave the council chamber]

Statesman Geller : Would you mind telling me what all that means?

Commander Adama : Dr. Salik has just reaffirmed that we are a race worth saving.

    [he leaves the council chamber]
