Gladys and Abner Kravitz actually live in the "Partridge Family" House which resembles a barn shape house in profile. However, where the house is located was never established for certain in the show's 8-years running, but several occasions have it supposedly right across the street from the Stephens'. The episode affirms their house is next door to the Church On The Corner (on the side-street T-boning the "Bewitched" House.) Abner holds a Grocery Bag talking to Gladys in front of their house. Viewer see Next door is "I Dream Of Jeannie." Its distinct picket fence separates the properties as well as the dual terrace on each side of the front door area. The BIG mystery is where the house is geographically on the "Bewitched" Show. Gladys stands with her back to her house staring straight - only if she lived across the street. Frequently, she is seen spying from her window at a diagonal - which makes perfect sense if the house is besides the Church on the Corner in front of the "Bewitched" House. However, for 8-years, the Kravitz Home disappears from across the street. Trees, bushes appear across the street, in the park. In short, this episode affirms The Kravitz house is the "Partridge Family" House adjacent to the Church on the Corner, across the street from the "Bewitched" House. But, the house never has a plot of land to call home in the "Bewitched" eight seasons.
The title of this episode seems to be based on "Open the Door, Richard", a novelty song that was popular in the late 1940s.
Once more, Endora purposely bungles Darrin's name again: Dobbin.
