DS Roach and Sgt Cryer are on their day off. They have organised an outing with the other coppers and they have even hired a minibus.
All these plans go awry. DI Galloway demands them back at Sun Hill. There has been another armed robbery, a bookmaker's shop has been the latest target. Cryer was actually there and even caught a glimpse of the robber.
While the robber is being chased by the police, he injures one policeman by shooting him. He then takes an old woman hostage in her house.
Sgt Cryer finds himself requested by the robber to come inside the house. While Galloway figures out a way to resolve the situation.
There is a lot of rawness in this episode, Director Michael Ferguson uses handheld cameras to get the documentary feel. There is a nice touch where he catches snippets of conversations from the bystanders.
