Louie goes from garbage to garage
kevinolzak16 July 2016
"Louie's Retirement" sees the former garbage man still driving his green Studebaker but unable to cope with retirement, making himself a nuisance at the garage for three days running. The new garbage man (Damian London) doesn't treat the cans with the same kind of respect, boasting that his previous job was stockbroker, the day before! Louie seemingly takes over, turning the garage into his personal waxing museum, with neither Ed's knowledge or consent. Rather than risk losing their friendship, Louie goes back into garbage. Ed receives a phone call from Shirley Schrift, formerly played by Shelley Winters, who doesn't actually appear. This first season episode debuts a new Chico phrase: "Looking Good!" (another reprise of 'the little dog in the back window').
