- Lucy Ewing: As hard as it may be for you to believe, I'm not money hungry like you are, Sue Ellen.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: You brat!
- [tries to slap her, but Lucy deflects the blow with her arm]
- Lucy Ewing: That's right, I'm a Ewing brat. A born Ewing.
- Lucy Ewing: [to Sue Ellen] I bet you're real sorry that you don't have a little brat of your own, like me. 'Cause if J.R. is dead, without a child you'll never have Southfork.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: [drunk and wallowing in self-pity] I love J.R. That's why I married him. Why doesn't anybody understand that? I have tried everything I know to get him to love me.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Don't make it worse for yourself.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: I was just sitting here counting my blessings, and you know what? They all add up to J.R.
- [a reporter has breached Southfork security and is questioning Ellie]
- Miss Ellie Ewing: Do you know what we do to vultures out here, Mr. Jackson? Ray, get me the shotgun out of the hall closet.
- Ray Krebbs: Yes, ma'am.
- Bobby Ewing: [public phone at airport] Honey, we've been planning this trip for over three weeks. I even had a surprise for you. We had the same room that we had on our honeymoon. Only surprise was I spent the night there alone.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [at the store] Bobby, I'm sorry. You don't know what it's been like here. I'm as disappointed as you are.
- Bobby Ewing: [with irony] Yeah, I'll bet you are.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Oh, Bobby, come on. I mean, I'm new, and I have to take orders. I can't just come and go as I please. Sometimes it's gonna interfere with our lives.
- Bobby Ewing: Well, it's been doing that a little too much lately in my opinion. Now what do I have to do to see my own wife once in a while?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I have to give them the time they're paying me for.
- Bobby Ewing: Sweetheart, I know what you make, and they are not paying for twenty-four hours of every day.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [hushed] I'm in a meeting, so let's talk about this when I get home.
- Bobby Ewing: Well, there's a bright spot in the conversation. You do plan on coming home.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: You know you're impossible. Yes, I'll see you tomorrow. We'll talk about it then.
- [husky voice:]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: And would you just remember I love you?
- Bobby Ewing: [more irony] Yeah, I just hope you remember. Goodbye.
- [puts down phone]
- Miss Ellie Ewing: [Ellie is holding a shotgun] Now Mr. Jackson, anybody on my land without invitation is a tresspasser. So unless I see your tail heading out of here right now, and fast, I'm gonna blow it off.
- Ken Jackson: [scared] Yes ma'am, yes ma'am!
- [turns and makes a run for it]
- Miss Ellie Ewing: Now get out of here! Get out!
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Come on, you need some rest. At least let me help you upstairs.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Don't you look at me like that.
- [gleeful:]
- Sue Ellen Ewing: How's it gonna feel for you to be plain Miss Barnes again, hmm?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: And don't you talk like that. Now, they're both coming back home!
- Sue Ellen Ewing: You don't like the idea, do you?
- [drunken smirks]
- Sue Ellen Ewing: You pretend so well. You know, I've always thought you're just a gold-digger anyway.
- [takes another swig]
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [rises to her feet] Is that all you can think about? I mean, even now? The Ewing money?
- Sue Ellen Ewing: [nods] Goodbye.
- [throws head back, drunken smirk]
- Sue Ellen Ewing: Goodbye, everything.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Oh, stop it, Sue Ellen. I'm not gonna listen to your disgusting self-pity about your finances.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: [rises, seething] How dare you talk to me like that?
- [drunken scoff]
- Sue Ellen Ewing: How many men paid your bills before you found Bobby to, uh, pick up the tab?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [slaps Sue Ellen] Nobody ever paid my bills! I worked at a job, just the way I'm doing now! What did you ever do?
- Miss Ellie Ewing: [as Jock walks off with Bobby and J.R] It's so good to see them like that. Maybe now we can be a real family.
- Sue Ellen Ewing: I don't know what you mean, Miss Ellie. We are a real family. We're all Ewings. Excuse me. J.R. might need me.
- [follows]
- Lucy Ewing: [smirks] She wishes.
- Miss Ellie Ewing: Now, that's enough, Lucy.
- Lucy Ewing: Sorry, Grandma.
