- It's Christmas Eve and Dennis is looking for his presents, in particular a sled his grandfather was suppose to have sent him.
Dennis' father, Henry, comes home with his arm full of presents, he tells his wife Alice that he has the perfect place to hide Dennis' Christmas presents- the old truck in the attic, Alice says that's the first place Dennis will look, but Henry is confident because he has the only key.
Meanwhile Dennis and Tommy are hard at work trying to open the Trunk, Dennis has a handful of keys and is trying every one , Dennis is in search of that sleigh his grandfather was supposed to have sent him.
When Henry catches them he banishes Dennis from the attic.
In the next scene we see Mr. Wilson and his wife in their living room somebody is ringing their doorbell incessantly, Mr. Wilson thinks it's Dennis and says if it us he will send Dennis straight home, it turns out to be Henry with all of Dennis' presents , he asks Mr. Wilson if he can hide them for him. Mr Wilson hides them in his hall closet. Since Dennis and Alice are out shopping, Mrs Wilson invites him to stay for coffee.
He spends about an hour drinking coffee and telling stories about Dennis when he decides it's time to head home, when they open the front door we hear Dennis ( he is off camera) playing silent night on his bugle, Henry tells him not to play it in the yard and Dennis runs up to them thinking they want him to play it in mr Wilson house, but mr Wilson says he doesn't want to hear it on a bugle, Dennis wishes him a merry Christmas.
Just then the mailman comes by with Christmas cards , he gives 7 to Henry , a bunch to Dennis and only one to Mr Wilson.
